The Thursday ThemeSong is a new meme [now the 3rd week]! And, it's been quite fun to have participants. I've visited all the ones that have played along, and the talents and ideas are stupendous! Do consider joining in. It's a simple concept. Just take lyrics of any song that has been written and recorded and match pictures to coincide with the lyrics. The rules and the Mr. Linky are found by clicking the button above! Now, my song/lyrics choice this week is----
On a day like today...

We pass the time away...

...writing LOVE LETTERS
in the sand----

How you laughed when I cried
Each time I saw the tide
Take our love letters from the sand

LYRICS: sung by Pat Boone [LOVE LETTERS IN THE SAND]
O, being the olden age that I am, I remember Mr. Boone very well.

OMG this is just perfect. Love love love that last photo. :) very well played my friend.
ReplyDeleteWow I loved this ... Hope all is well Anni & sorry I haven't been around in a while...I've been extremely busy & preoccupied with life.
ReplyDeleteThis is the first song I remember hearing on the radio as a young girl. Still love it to this day. I recently saw a public television fund raiser on Pat Boone. They showed him singing in the 50s on a TV program he had. And he looks good now too. I didn't know he wrote the lyrics to this song.
ReplyDeleteSandy Well, I don't think he wrote the lyrics, but he did record it!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful photos to go with this great song. I really like the LOVE letters in the sand.
ReplyDeleteThrough Squirrel Eyes
I haven't heard that one in a long time! Now it's in my head!
ReplyDeleteGosh that's a real blast from the past. I like the way you illustrated the song.
ReplyDeletePat Boone. Wow! Haven't thought of him in years. Love the song and pics to go with. I'm enjoying this meme!
ReplyDeleteLove your choice!!!

ReplyDeleteMadi and Mom
this is a nice post ... and thanks for dropping a comment at my place !
ReplyDeleteWell, I still can't do this, but I plugged your great new meme on my blog today. http://bleemcguire.blogspot.com/2010/08/posting-on-thursday-how-unusual.html
ReplyDeleteI'll keep thinking!
I like your blog a lot with the variations ;-)
ReplyDeletePat Boone was very popular in Denmark in (if I remember correct) 1950's and 1960's!
I remember..He was dreamy when I was a young girl..loved those movies.
ReplyDeleteWhat a neat meme.
Mama Bear
Aw...that's Hootin' Sweet :)
ReplyDeleteSo well done, the photos give a pensive mood to the words as they fade away...and you caught a gull on the last one! Love the beach, always have. Long ago I wrote some words in the sand and took a picture, and my toeprints showed up! Good job in reaching in so yours didn't show!
ReplyDeleteThis is a FUN meme, Anni, thanks for keeping it going!
Hi Hootin' Annie. I posted the "Over 50" badge on my blog, so if you would list me as a member I would be greatly appreciative. The blog is called California Copy Chimp and the url is www.cacopychimp.blogspot.com.
ReplyDeleteThanks so much.
Dan
Aloha HA :) Yes that is the bus company I work for in my post for this. :) Have a wonderful day my dear :)
ReplyDeleteWow how creative and interesting - now I'll have to work on coming up with a song!
ReplyDeleteI'll have to put my thinking cap on - I always have a song going through my mind, but getting pictures to coincide - a different game entirely. I'll see what I can do. Great one today - love Pat Boone! He's still going strong, from what I read the other day.
ReplyDeleteHe was part of my youth songs only I didn't understand a single word in English at that time. You know it is a big discovery for me when now I listen to these old songs and I understand the words. Some songs had such a stupid text, it was good that I didn't understand them. Lol !
ReplyDeleteDan You've been added to B over 50 :o)
ReplyDeleteAnni you are a genius!!!! thank you
ReplyDeletefor the song and is is one I grew up with.
I'll work on that this weekend,
Cecilia aka Mom of Madi and Mom
