My Sorority Issue is below my Show N Tell

SHOW N TELL

Just showing off the flowers of this month in full bloom. Oh, and Dawn? I have another beautiful iris to show again. And there is another one budding! By the way, my dad had iris blooming all Spring and into the Summer months. When he planted them, he would plant just a partial amount, then, wait two weeks, and plant more. This way, they wouldn't all bloom at once. They're beautiful; all thanks to you and your generous gift....

The very last photo is of a newer crepe myrtle tree I planted last year called Strawberries and Cream...its color ranges from deep rich red to rosy pink and off white, cream color. The Strawberries and Cream crepe myrtle is in the back yard while the hot pink and lavender myrtles are in the front yard lining our driveway. Oh, and I almost forgot, in the 5th photo from the top....see if you can find the honey bee?!!

I thought I'd join the sorority of blogland. A new feature and a whole new concept of sisterhood. And as with joining any sorority, there IS an initiation. Yessiree. AKA 'Rush' week!! And the challenge for the inaugural post for this group is simple. The rules are posted HERE Also, the rush for initiation...
To rush you must do the following:

    Take this picture . . .

    and create something with it.

A banner, a hanging, an ATC,
    a piece of jewelry, a tag, a card . . . anything!
Print the picture and place it in a frame -
it doesn't have to be fancy!
Just use your imagination. The possibilities are endless.
You have inspiration all around you.
After all . . . that's what our blogs do - they inspire us.
This can be as simple or as elaborate as you like.

Then take a picture of your creation.
    There are no rules.
    Well - except one.

You must be in the picture too.

I made them in my photo program. I took a photo of some earrings, then, cut and pasted the image above into the lower portion. While all along, I added my profile image to the top portion....and then, made both to match in sepia tones. Both images are 'framed' in brass as the initiation rules state. It's the best idea I could muster today.

  11. Good Morning Anni!

Love the cute "virtual earrings" idea.

But the flowers? FABULOUS! Our iris are long gone, sadly -- they only stick around a little while but they are so gorgeous while they are blooming.

I have some peach and white iris that I especially love ... like peach ice cream.

Thanks for visiting That Old House! I'm hoping to have tomatoes for sandwiches this weekend.

The iris is gorgeous - I'm so glad they're coming on for you - amazing. Ours were glorious, but sadly are gone. I thought they were cooler weather flowers - I learned something new this week!

We're off to camp this morning to pick up Care Bear and another kid from our church - should be a fun day trip. It'll be good to hear her adventures - unless she sleeps all the way home!

  68. Hi,
Thanks for visiting my blog! It's not as easy for me to blog surf on the road depending on internet connection (if any) at whatever RV park we are at but this one has fairly decent connection and speed. I love the ice cream colors of your flowers. Just beautiful! And your earrings are adorable - and very creative. Have a lovely day!

  69. Hi new sister! I am so happy to meet you and hope we become true sister friends in our sorority journey. I apologize up front that this message is a "cut and paste" message to all the sorority sisters because I wanted at least to become a follower of all of you and take a moment to say hello. For those who may not know my youngest son was killed last week and we buried him on Tuesday. I had started my project before that tragic event and am not finished but I did post what I've done on it so far. If you have visited me already I thank you and if not I invite you. I am just not quite at the point of being able to think of something to say individually at this time. I will soon hopefully be able to be active and visiting everyone. Love you already, Mollye

  70. Hi Anni! Great to meet you. I'm a fellow Texas girl. You live at (or close to) my FAVORITE place in Texas. I could live on the North Padre Island in a little hut with the bare necessities and just be happy as a lark. Got to spend a day there last year and I want to go back!!! Great to meet you sista!

    ReplyDelete
  71. Be still my heart, your crepe myrtle is absolutely stunning! I've never seen any in person so I'm assuming we can't grow it over here. Your irises are also gorgeous. I have red ones opening up now and with the yellow ones it makes quite a striking contrast.

You did a fabulous job with the sorority initiation project!! Leave it to you to come up with something so perfect:-) xoxo
