I got 'im, I got him!!
For weeks I've been keeping
my eye open for this doll

Online, I've checked about

to purchase here.
I found him...

FLASH FICTION 55

Above me the diamond-dusted ebony turns a steel gray. Off of my shoulder there is a green hue; like seafoam. Silhouettes of inanimate monoliths soon form into visible skyscrapers seemingly jutting from the sea...
Within minutes the horizon turns a soft peach fuzz as the sun kisses the clouds. Day begins again...
in the city.

Hi Anni, you could not have shown the contrast between the wonder that is nature and the seemingly inappropriate setting for it that is the city. That was indeed beautiful!
ReplyDeleteGlad you got the doll you wanted sweet friend.
ReplyDeleteThat is actually very beautiful. Sunrise. Hopeful and promising. A new day. Inviting. I loved that. I am a country girl, but I still loved that. :)
ReplyDeleteWell done. Hugs/ Jo.
timeless 55.

ReplyDeleteSO JEALOUS OF YOU!
GREAT TASTE!
So HAPPY FOR YOU!

Like a commercial for a resort? LOL
Well done,Anni!

nice...spending most of my life in the country, i spent several years in teh city and while the sunrise is distinctly different, it is just as beautiful. nice 55.
ReplyDeletemine is uP!
Oh, I am so-ooo JEALOUS!! Ha! Ha! Just kidding, but I LOVE it, and really am happy you got one! He looks great! You KNOW I love Johnny too! ~tina
ReplyDelete1st off...LOVED Johnny Depp in Alice. He is amazing, the way he can get into character like that! If you need someone to send the doll to I would be happy to forward my address!
ReplyDelete2nd...that was a very wonderfully lovely 55. I was sitting out on my deck this morning, listening to the cacophony of bird song as our sky, too, emerged from its "diamond dusted ebony"
love the poem and the pic!
ReplyDeletebut honey. you might need a 12 step program over that AIW obsession you've got..... ;-)
Congrats on getting him! I like your fiction too!
ReplyDeleteSunrise in a city can be a sweet and secret moment. You capture it so beautifully, Anni.
ReplyDeleteMightyMom Nah...it's more Johnny Depp instead of Alice in Wonderland. Actually, if you get serious here, it's more movies, period!!!
ReplyDeleteLove the descriptions here as nature and the work of man's hands come together to create an unforgettable scene.
ReplyDeleteNow, you have a little bit of Johnny Depp living at your house.
ReplyDeleteMama Bear
So beautifully written! A wonderful 55 & a glorious sunrise!
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by my blog. I am glad you got your doll. He is really realistic.
ReplyDeletehello anni :) just stopping by to say thanks for visiting and leaving your comment on my 55. after reading it, how could i not reply and ask you 'how' do you do it??? we've been married 36 years and i still struggle daily with finding the peace and joy WITHIN MYSELF to barely tread water!
ReplyDeletebeautiful post...it took me out of my own podunk town for just a few moments :)
He looks so real, scared me for a second!!! Are they selling dolls for all the characters?
ReplyDeleteVictoria I've seen the Queen of Hearts doll by Mattel™ but she looks NOTHING like Helena Bonham Carter's character. A big disappointment. And I haven't looked for the 2010 version of Alice.
ReplyDeleteThank you for dropping by! I too love the whole Alice in Wonderland story! Cool doll! Monica
ReplyDeleteIt's wonderful that you still can feel like a happy little girl, lol ! But to my shame I don't know who "he" is, lol !
ReplyDeleteThat is a great doll. Johnny Depp did such a good job as the Hatter.
ReplyDeleteHow exciting to get something you've been searching for! It looks amazing. Thanks for stopping by my show and tell! Have a great weekend.
ReplyDeleteKaren
Reading the comments and knowing that you are a big fan of Johnny Depp it must be him ?
ReplyDeleteHave you ever heard a song of his wife Vanessa in French ? here is the last one http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3R_6sP_6VWE&feature=channel. She was quiet famous in Belgium and France in the 90th, now not so much anymore. I like her voice and also her songs.
Colourful! Late for me, this week, what with work demanding I do what I'm paid to do. I mean, what a cheek. My 55 story here
ReplyDeleteLove the picture and the poem - did you take it?? I'm sure you did!
ReplyDeleteHave a super week-end! Not nice here today, after a couple of really good spring days. A friend is coming from Minnesota tonight and, according to the forecast, we won't see the mountains again tomorrow. Yuck! Hope they're wrong - they have been before!
What a thrill to find a long-awaited treasure!
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by my blog earlier:-)
Tracey
Phew, those sky scrapers sure look like cloud busters! I like the bit about the sun kissing the clouds!
ReplyDeleteGreat work on the Hatter and as usual a fitting 55. Thanks for always stopping by to visit my 55.
ReplyDeleteAnni, he is wonderful. I'm so out of touch I didn't even know these were being produced. I need to see the movie. I love the story! Glad the Mad Hatter is now living in your home. I've added myself as a follower. I thought I'd been a long time follower, but the sidebar said otherwise. So here I am! Thanks for sharing your new doll.

Ah, I had to just stop and drink this one in. Love the way that nature insists and blends Life inside Life, in the city and all around.
ReplyDeleteI am glad that you found your doll. It's always fun to find something that you really cherish and bring it home to enjoy!! Have you been to see the new movie yet? I have not. I have heard that it is good, but a bit scary. Have a great weekend!!
