SIX WORD SATURDAY:
I chanced upon this new meme for Saturday through a comment left by Prayer Girl [last Sunday]. While I stopped by, visiting with her, her last blog entry was "Six Word Saturday". Tho I couldn't find a link from her blog entry [I'm totally blond by birth, my excuse, and I'm sticking to it], I did a bit of Googling and found the link to the meme...
....on the meme's author's blog, she wrote last Saturday:
"Saturday, January 30, 2010 Six Word Saturday Describe your life (or something) in a phrase using just six words. For more information, try clicking here. Feel free to explain or not explain. Add an image, a video, a song, nothing. I love seeing what everyone does each week with their entries." And then, her six words were -
"Please no ice, just be snow"
I thought, since I'm getting 'burned out' with the meme Photo Hunt after nearly 2 years of playing most each and every Saturday, it was time to do something with a different twist to it....
Here are my six words for my first 6 W Saturday:
TUESDAY I'LL BE CELEBRATING MY BIRTHDAY
- - -<><><>- - -
CAMERA CRITTERS:
Being so darned chilly this winter, and me staying indoors so much without being able to get out in the yard and gardening I've been doing a LOT of pencil sketches as you may have noticed. I used to do it a lot when I was home and had small children...then my urge to draw dwindled until this year. The last sketch I showed here, of the tiger, I mentioned that another favorite big cat of mine was the Cheetah. I love watching programs on National Geographic with the whole hour being nothing but cheetahs. Their eye makeup is to 'die for'. And the golden topaz color, and the natural sparkle when the sun shines on them...well, the eyes just hypnotizes me. Their swift, agile movements and speed shows grace AND cunning. I'd love to go on a photo safari and just watch 'em all day! The photo on the upper-left is the beginning outline, the bottom photo, below this, -sorry 'bout my crochet project showing up a bit- is the finished drawing....

....and still, it rains. After completing the cheetah sketch, I started on the two from the movie "Avatar". Next to show sometime when it's done, if I finish it.

Excellent sketch! And i love the subject matter too! Makes me want to start drawing again- i can never motivate myself to do it anymore! Great work!
ReplyDeleteI really enjoyed your sketch. Being creative often equates to feeling alive. I often see hearts in the spots of cheetahs.

ReplyDeleteI sure am hearing a lot of that. No ice, just snow! Hearing how the weather is in other states makes me just be thankful I only have rain, even with as much as I can't stand that. I'm in California and prefer the beautiful sunny weather. Wishing for Spring and Summer to get hear quick. Hope the weather calms down for you :o)

ReplyDeleteSO ARE MY SISTER AND NIECE!
Welcome to 6WS. It is such fun meme. I have only been participating for about 5 months but it is one of favorite ones. Because I am given to so much verbage, I love that this forces me to use "word economy." Blessings and come back next week.
ReplyDeleteAnd I hope you will stop by my blog for a visit. Your sketches are fabulous.
Hi Annie,
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by my CC post. I didn't make the rounds yesterday, because we have our grandson on Saturdays, and he didn't take much of a nap. Also, we didn't go to my parents' like we usually do, where I go into another room and blog while they play with him.
You are blessed to be able to draw like that!
Happy Birthday!
You captured their eye make up to a tee! How envious I am of anyone who has talent to draw! Good job.
ReplyDeleteYou draw so well!
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for joining in for Six Word Saturday! And happy birthday! Since I'm running so late with comments this week, I guess my wishes are belated instead of early but they're sincere just the same. Hope you'll play 6WS again this week!
