“A wise old owl lived in an oak;
The more he saw the less he spoke;
The less he spoke the more he heard...
Why can't we all be like that bird?”

CAUTION: If you get a comment from EdwinaHugh...beware [note at the end of my blog today]!!!

There is much I feel I need to cover today in my Monday Morsels. B...a dear blogger sent me over to this blog...two older women and their views. This one post in particular, I loved, and dear "B" knew me well enough to give me directions. Going Rogue without a Condom The article [which I had to have Bud sit down and read also] was that of how we feel in so many ways even without reading 'her book'. The blog section was written and published by Helen at "Margaret and Helen Best Friends for 60 Years and Counting." I thought I'd share the link to it for others.

Altho the daylight hours are beginning now to be fairly warm with highs in the upper 40's or lower 50's the nighttime temps are still hovering near freezing. I thought it'd be fun to crochet me a winter cap for when I walk on the beach during the cold, windy weather. I bought me just one skein of yarn yesterday while we were out for our Sunday Brunch...only to come home and search for a cap to crochet. I found a pattern, something different with a little "Spring" touch to it. I'm trying. Don't know if I'll get the stitch correct tho. LOL But, it's worth a try. Also, I'm in the middle of sketching a favorite big cat ... a tiger. I needed to take a break from it and thought I'd do my Monday post for a 'time out'. As I said yesterday, I've sketched quite a bit because of the cold weather lately...having to stay indoors. I'll post some of the drawings in time. One in particular for the year's anniversary of Jan. 20th's inauguration. No it's NOT Obama. But I'm gonna save that and post it ON THE 20th 2010, one year later.

....while in Google, I typed in Hootin' Anni and came up with Google's Rank for my blog! Here's the info on it from a screenshot--

Trivial, I know, but fun to read it anyway. And if you take the site's uri off my screenshot, and delete hootin--anni.blogspot.com and then add YOUR blog's home page uri, [http://wholinkstome.com/url/YOUR BLOG HOME PAGE URI HERE] you probably will find YOUR ranking! How fun is that? Compare with others, this screenshot above, will enlarge in a new window.

    2. Good Morning Sweet Annie...
      I loved your post today. So you are crocheting yourself a nice hat. I hope you are working on one for your twin here. I have been so sick and have been so cold, if I had a hat, it would've been on my head. I got bronchitis and it is trying to turn into pneumonia on me. Am on lots of meds to help stop it in its tracks. Not fun.

      I love to read your lists. They are so much fun. We like to eat in a so many of the same places and love a lot of the same shows. I really never realized that I had a twin out there, but I think I have found her. How funny is that?

      As far as Edwina, yep she visited me too. I did the same thing you did Sweetie, and deleted that puppy as quick as it came up. Sick people hu?

      Have a beautiful day. I am going to try and go back to work this morning. I have a class to teach, and if the voice will come out long enough I am going on in.

      Love Ya sweetie. Country hugs and so much love...Sherry

    5. Anni,

      I went over to Margaret's and Helens and read the article. I don't have much love for Sarah either. I heard she's running in the next election. God save us all.

      It's a little warmer here this morning. minus 5C, which is 22F. Still not warm by any means, but maybe our high today will increase, though there is no sun yet.

      Enjoyed your post today. I've had several of those kinds of comments left on my blog. I just delete them and have advised others to do so as well.

      Enjoy your day.

      Blessings,
      Mary

    6. Mary Well, if she does decide to run for presidential office in America....I don't think the GOP will even get her on the ballot since she screwed up the campaign last time for McCain. She'd have to start a new party to even get 'on the ballot. Of course that's MY opinion

    7. I also had the honor of a visit from this chinese Edwina or whatever her name is and asked a blogfriend to tell me what it meant and she also told me it's porn. I agree with you such a frustrated person should write here dirty things in an own blog WE ARE NOT INTERESTED, not even in chinese, lol !
      BTW Things you did yesterday : I got up too and I blogged too, lol !

    8. Thanks for doing the tag my friend. I love all your answers :) You really like movies LOL And Bud Cheats but my fav is that you forgot to thaw something LOL Too funny.

      One good thing about WordPress is that the spam catcher (Akismet) for comments does a very good job and crap like the comment you got always go into the spam folder. Why people have to do this crap is beyond me but they do. It's sickening if you ask me.

      Great rankings. I never pay attention to those. Maybe I should... :)

      Have a wonderful week ahead :)

    10. I just went to read that article and even though I haven't read the book, I had no intention of ever reading it anyway because I've always said that Palin is full of herself and nothing she could ever write or say would interest me one bit.

      Glad to hear it's warming up in your corner of the world...it's "milder" here too, meaning that's it's been going up to 20F instead of the other side of zero! lol I bet you will do an excellent job crocheting yourself a hat, can't wait to see it, hopefully you will model it:-)

      I checked out the Google Rank thingie and it gave me the same rank as you...3! lol

      Loved reading your answers to the questions and like you, I often "forget to thaw something for dinner"! hehe Hmmmm, Steve is like Bud and cheats at games all the time too cuz anytime we play online games in the evenings he always seems to win! lol

      Yup, I've had visits from Edwina as well and in fact they tried to leave their little comments in some of my older posts from a year or two ago but due to the fact that I receive the comments in my email, I was able to go delete them right away. I wish these people would go get a life and let us just have simple fun with our blogs. xoxo

    11. Very good Anni that you take time to look on this "Edwinahugh". The name rings a bell it seems that I read that name somewhere since I am also in a lot of meme's which I found very good to start friendship in blogosphere. But with this kind of people who I think wanting to fish and maybe attack computers with viruses hmmm not really good.
      That is why to some bloggers who are new, be very careful to go to any site. Be sure that the site has at least a picture of the AUTHOR to know that we are not talking to a ROBOT!!
      Sorry for the long post I got carried away hehe! Keep warm!! Happy weekdays!

    16. What a jam-packed post! Thanks for the heads up about Edwina Hugh ... I delete all comments written in a language I can't understand (especially if they're Anonymous) as a matter of course. I enjoyed your '8s' but dunno when (or if) I'll get around to sharing.

      It was fun to check the 'popularity' of Small Reflections. My results:

      * Google PageRank: 3
      * Google Links: 324
      * Yahoo Links: 12,300
      * Bing Related: 77

      * Google indexed pages: 196
      * Subdomains: 0

      It's been MONTHS since I've shared my morning musings and I want to get back in the habit so I started yesterday ... then spent the day with my sister, so this morning I'm trying to catch up on blog visits ... just because.
      What's on my mind ...

      One more thing ... those chocolate Monday Morsels look TASTY indeed!
      Hugs and blessings,
