List of 2009 Photo Hunt themes by the week
Veterans and/or Military is the theme this week for PHOTO HUNT.
...and I'm saying what could be more apropos for this week in USA. November 11th is Veteran's Day. But, November 10th is the United States Marine Corps' 234th Birthday. It was, back then, called the Continental Marines. Today, it's the FEW, THE PROUD, THE MARINES. I, for one, have two former Marines in my family. My older 'middle' brother. And my son. Both served during war times. The Korean Conflict and the Gulf War. Probably the most infamous part of the Marine Corps is the flag on Iwo Jima during World War II. But for me, the most infamous Marine photo is this---

the last WW has cost the life of over seventy million people, the majority civilians. That's more then enough to hate everything which is military. Women don't go to the army to fight, but to get a job and be payed.

ReplyDeleteI love this post. I too have a Marine in my life. My husband was a Marine and served in Viet Nam war. When the world gets in a crisis they always call in the Marines. My Daddy was in the Air Force and our oldest son was in the Army. I think my family has served this country well in several of our forces.
