PHOTO HUNT 2009 THEMES

GARBAGE

The prompt this week for Photo Hunt is garbage. GARBAGE? Ohhhhh, I so wanted to go to the neighborhood Video Store and go in the 'back room' to get photos of THAT kinda garbage, but alas, not my forté------not even for the sake of blogging. So, y'all will have to settle for this photo....

[and look closer, garbage flew out...onto the street as the city's crew drove by --a huge flattened piece of carboard/box. Geez. Of course, with my issues, I had to walk over with my latex surgical gloves [that I use for staining and painting things] and pick it up. Who KNOWS where it's been.] rofl

...and then, to change the gawd awful subject...I took a walk away from the rancid smells of said garbage, to breathe in the fresh salt air with --------

<><><>

----a walk on the beach...I'm waving to y'all while combing the beach for shells, trying to keep my white bibs from getting too soaked and my pink sandals from getting too sandy. LOL

[but, think about it, that garbage on the street just may have been cleaner than the sea, right? Oh well, if the birds and sea life can live in it...I can survive a few hours of it myself. Ahhhhhhhh, blissful]

  4. I love the angle of your bin photo...it makes me a bit squeezy if I look at it for longer, though :)

And the beach in bin-proximity looks lovely.

  5. Sadly, the sea's so dirty in Hong Kong I've been completely reluctant to go into it. Have enjoyed walking on the beaches but no way am I swimming in the sea here though I know people who have done so and miraculously survived!

  16. Beach pictures are definitively better in all points of view !
Our garbage is in plastic bags so it happens from time to time that a dog opens the bag and I can collect the whole stinking mess from the street where it is all spread over !

  17. I can't stand it when the garbage trucks drop trash in the street and yards too. Great pix for the theme.

  22. Our neighbors are moving and they had many vehicles from the packers around on garbage day. She pushed the large bins, two of them, out further so the arm from the truck could reach. What did they do? They tried to pick up both at once and dropped one, leaving garbage all across the street. She called the city and they tried to say it was her fault. Fortunately there were several witnesses to what happened and they did clean it up.

My construction trash or garbage is up.

  23. I'm with you ~ enough with the stinky garbage. Let's go to the beach for a breath of fresh air! Cute bibs.

  24. I wanted to take a photo of all the tabloids but felt funny about walking into a store with my camera. And I'm not about to buy them! Very creative trash can photo.

I'd love to be walking on a beach looking for shells! Lucky you!

    My garbage is here.

  27. Love the white bibs and pink sandals! Just wondering how far you have to drive to get to the beach. Looks great, and am not thinking of the "stuff" in the water!

  28. What a nice photo of you on the beach, Anni. I love the beach but it's a bit dodgy swimming in beaches here in the summer. The on shore wind brings blue bottles...stinging jellyfish and of course, there are the sharks. However, it's nice to walk along the beach as long as we watch out for said blue bottles washed up on the shore.

You sound like me...I pick up garbage when I see it. Such as after yobbos who leave their empty takeaway cartons, wrappers, plastic drink bottles, etc on train station or bus stop seats. I hate to think what their homes are like...

  29. Great post, Anni - I know I've done the same on garbage day and recycling day. I hate those automated trucks - the guys never get out to make sure they've left nothing behind.

Mine took a bit more personal direction...

  30. Anni,

I can't stand garbage on the street either and if our crews drop anything they don't pick it up. I doubt they can bend over. lol

Love the photo of you in the white bib overalls. They must be really comfortable. Glad you got out to enjoy a walk on the beach.

    Have a great evening.
    Blessings,
    Mary
