"POINT"

Have you ever heard of the thirteen POINTS in Geometry? Foundation of geometry indeed!!! The only foundation I need is the old-fashioned girdle right now!!!

Well, I've never heard of the 13 points of geometry either, and I really don't give a rabbit's a$$! I'm not going to even delve into it any further. [insert me flipping my hand over my gray matter right now, and motioning that it's WAY above any conception in my brain, that's for sure!!!] Did I scare ya? Are y'all still here with me? Good!!!

Instead....

Since it's March 17th, and of course the day we all turn Irish because it's St. Patrick's Day, I thought I'd make a POINT and post a few Irish blessings...

May the grace of God's protection
And His great love abide
Within your home-within the hearts
Of all who dwell inside.
♣ ♣ ♣
May you alway walk in sunshine.
May you never want for more.
May Irish angels rest their wings right beside your door.
♣ ♣ ♣
May the sun shine, all day long,
everything go right, and nothing wrong.
May those you love bring love back to you,
and may all the wishes you wish come true!
♣ ♣ ♣
May brooks and trees and singing hills
Join in the chorus too,
And every gentle wind that blows
Send happiness to you.
♣ ♣ ♣
May the embers from the open hearth warm your hands,
May the sun's rays from the Irish sky warm your face,
May the children's bright smiles warm your heart,
May the everlasting love I give you warm your soul.
♣ ♣ ♣
May God grant you always...
A sunbeam to warm you,
A moonbeam to charm you,
A sheltering angel, so nothing can harm you.
♣ ♣ ♣
May the good saints protect you,
And bless you today.
And may troubles ignore you,
Each step of the way.
♣ ♣ ♣
May joy and peace surround you,
Contentment latch your door,
And happiness be with you now,
And bless you evermore.
♣ ♣ ♣
May your blessings outnumber
The Shamrocks that grow.
And may trouble avoid you
Wherever you go.
♣ ♣ ♣
These things, I warmly wish for you-
Someone to love, some work to do,
A bit of o' sun, a bit o' cheer.
And a guardian angel always near.
♣ ♣ ♣
May your troubles be less,
And your blessing be more.
And nothing but happiness,
Come through your door.
♣ ♣ ♣
Lucky stars above you,
Sunshine on your way,
Many friends to love you,
Joy in work and play-
Laughter to outweigh each care,
In your heart a song-
And gladness waiting everywhere
All your whole life long!

♣ ♣ ♣

And my last point to get across to you...
I-rish you a very nice place to live,
I-rish God's greatest gifts he'll give.
I-rish you health, and wealth, and more--
I-rish your smilin' face were at my door!

  8. Anni,

These are beautiful Irish blessings. Here is one for you:

    Wishing you a rainbow
    For sunlight after showers—
Miles and miles of Irish smiles
    For golden happy hours—
    Shamrocks at your doorway
    For luck and laughter too,
And a host of friends that never ends
Each day your whole life through!

Happy St. Patrick's Day, my friend.

    Blessings,
    Mary

Whew.. I'm glad you didn't go into that geometry stuff. It would have gone whooshing right over the top of my head.

Ya know.. we almost COULD have been at your door since we went into Texas last week.

Good luck with the electrical work...

  15. Those 13 points don't much matter to me either - the matter is mush. Anyway. Love your today page and all the clever Irish wishes. Nice!

  16. Ya know, geometry had a nasty habit of putting me to sleep. Chemistry, too. Needless to say, I know nothing about those 13 points. :)

  22. Dear Anni ~~ I loved all the Irish blessings - they are sure good at those. Thank you so much for your sympathy about Gwen who is being laid to rest today. I couldn't go,
and was in a car accident yesterday. I wasn't hurt although my carer was taken to hospital with bad pains in her back. I heard today she is just badly bruised.
As for the Rodney story on Peter's blog we have both put it on before. Rodney was a nice kid, except for that one day. I can see that swinging on a gate would be fun, but when you live alone, you don't need jobs to be done for you
No harm done, He was 8 and his little sister used to say "Hello old lady" which was cute as I am an old lady. Take care, my friend,
    Love, Merle.
