Photo Hunt category this week: "SAD"
The only thing I could think of depicting the week's prompt is a photo of a pencil sketch I already posted a few weeks ago along with some of my other sketches [the link should open in a new page if you'd like to view more]...it's of the 'sad faced' Emmett the Clown. I tend to stay away from 'sad' if I can!

Last year, I started a tradition of handing out "treats" and not tricks for my commentors. I will again do the same. If you leave comments for me for anytime during the week, I will choose three to five of those that leave a sweet treat for me in the comments! [the sweet treat being kind words!] But to be fair to all the others, just don't grab this for yourself...it's not something for everyone...you have to be picked as you come knocking on my
So, check back often, you're name may show up here!
To begin my traditional fun, as I love Halloween, today's recipients will be:
Sue
Betty
Melli
Larry
AND!---here is your treat:

[just click on the treat and then it'll open in a new window...grab it there and save it if you'd like to.]
PS ---storyteller, aka Virginia, has written many-a-haiku and all of which I've really enjoyed. A lot!! This past week, she wrote one about Hootin' Anni. I so love this! It was a surprise and with her talents, I feel very honored! Stop by here...and don't forget to leave her a comment, just because!!
Yea, sad's a tough one I think. Like the sketch, even if he is a sad clown. I chose sketches myself for sad this week too - sketches that my son has draw.
ReplyDeleteHave a good weekend, H.A.
A good illustration and a good choice, Annie.
ReplyDeleteIts sad viewing clowns with those kind of expressions.
ReplyDeleteWe are all dealing with a certain amount of sadness from today's theme for sure :P
An amazing sketch! The drama of sadness overwhelms the clown's face!
ReplyDeleteWhat a terrific treat! Thanks so much for choosing me. I am honoured for sure!
ReplyDeleteAmazing sketch (as are the others).
ReplyDeleteHappy Weekend.
Wow, that looks really sad... did you draw that yourself? Love your Halloween layout btw, reminds me of the skeletons you bought--the see no evil, hear no evil, speak no evil trio.
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful drawing, Anni, you are one creative lady :)
ReplyDeleteWhat a nice drawing ! It wasn't easy to find something "sad" I don't have crying kids or sad dog eyes available ! and my cats never look sad, lol !
ReplyDeletewhy does a sad clown somehow look soooo much sadder than a normal sad... great sketch!
ReplyDelete...there's something for you on my side!
ReplyDeleteCrikey - I find clowns a little scary! :) Good choice of picture for today. :)
ReplyDeletei agree with shadow.. a clown look so much sadder when sad. it is weird. i feel sad jus looking at the sketch. most of the photohunters dont really deal with sadness so directly. i avoided it too as I dont like sad.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great drawing! Perfect for today!!!
ReplyDeleteWow...your are very talented. I love pencil art. Thank you for stopping by and I will be back to see more of your work!
ReplyDeleteGood morning Miss Annie, I like the sketch. sad clowns always seem like the utimate oxymoron to me. Good choice. And I try to stay away from sad too, but sometimes it just finds me.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful sketch though it's really quite a sad sight. Hope you are not sad though Ms. Anni!
ReplyDeleteha ha i don't know but the sketch made me smile. you're good, anni! ;-)
ReplyDeleteOh, what a great sketch of a sad clown!!
ReplyDeletea sad clown fits you fro this post still fun
ReplyDeleteI love the clown, you are a very, very good artist. Do you sell any of your work?
ReplyDeleteThanks for the nice comment and yours is nice too. Happy weekend.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the SWEET treat Anni! And I do like your drawing of the clown too!
ReplyDeleteGreat take on this week's theme! I'm like you in that I don't "do" sad ;)
ReplyDeleteThanks for visiting my blog & for the comment :) The part you wrote about ice cream almost made me bust a gut, LOL!
Hope you have a great weekend :)
Great take on the theme and very nice sketch. Emmett was a true artist. His every look and move bespoke his character. He searched for the understanding of things around him, seemingly lost, but he would always find the true connection that we seldom attain. Even with his sad face we could see the pure enjoyment in his appreciation and acceptance of the simplest of things. He was simply marvelous in the same vein of Charlie Chaplin's Tramp.
ReplyDeleteBaker
Great sketch! You are very talented. He WAS such a sad clown wasn't he.
ReplyDeletemine's up here.
Anni,
ReplyDeleteI love the sad-faced clown. We are all blessed with certain talents and yours are so creative. Great Photo Hunt.
I read the haiku at Small Reflections and thought the tribute was perfect. She did a great job with it.
Take care. It's a cloudy day here and I expect more rain. Very chilly. Will email you later.Enjoy your Saturday.
Blessings,
Mary
I generally don't "do" sad, either, so this week's theme is way out of my comfort zone - a good stretch, though, I suppose.
ReplyDeleteI love your sketch, Anni - I knew that you're talented, but I didn't realize that you're so artistic, too! Beautifully rendered and perfect for the theme!
Thanks for stopping by - always nice to hear from you!
Nice drawing! Enjoy your weekend!
ReplyDeleteWonderful scetch - even thouch the face looks sad
ReplyDeletePS. we are moving back to winterhome, that's why I'm so short
Emmett was a sad chap for sure. I'm getting depressed looking at these blogs. Think I've had enough sadness for one day. My son is home visiting and I want to be glad!
ReplyDeleteKnock knock knock on your door Anni,
ReplyDeleteWho's there?
A little old lady who is not blogging, but would like to leave a comment anyways =
You are one talented woman, Your sketches of which I have seen several are all very personal, and different from what one usually see- wonder where you have your skills from?
And that goes for everything you set your mind and head to.
This clown brings back some sad memories, when looking at him- and you know why!!
Thank you for all your lively Halloween things-unfortunately we don't have much of that here in Denmark-yet. So it is wonderful to see your devotion to this time of year when so much in the nature is waving goodbye
and the winter is knocking on our door.
With love as always
Mutti
What a great sketch! Sad face, though. ;)
ReplyDeleteI did Photo Hunters today, too. I hope you get a chance to visit and post your link.

Wow ... thanks for the linky love. Knowing how you enjoy my Haiku, it seemed the best place to share your wonderful gift. I'm delighted that you enjoyed it enough to share in this way.
ReplyDeleteI’m with you in ‘avoiding sad whenever possible’ … but I do like your sketch and I managed to put together a few ‘sad’ things at Sacred Ruminations. I have ‘happier’ stuph at Small Reflections ;--)
Hugs and blessings,

ReplyDeleteas always, your blog's a riot! the Halloween theme looks great =] sadness is really not your thing, i take it!
ReplyDeleteInteresting that your entry this week is like an amalgamation of tnchick's (a sketch) and someone else's I saw (of a sad clown). Great minds think alike, I guess... ;b
