This is my favorite month of the year, except for December. LOL This past week, I've been setting up the Halloween decorations for the house, and then put some small 'wonders' outdoors in the yard also. Several visitors to my blog have commented that they're anxious to see my decorations. I'm afraid by the end of the month y'all will be bored with all the stuff. Still, to begin....below are the yard lights...ghosts, jack-o-lanterns, skulls and gargoyles, oh my!!! They illuminate at sunset and turn off at sunrise...solar. These are night photos I took for ya'll ---I traipsed through the mosquitoes to take 'em. Now, where is the Calamine Lotion?

- - -

And, if you don't know by now, you haven't known me long. LOL Anyway, I love Halloween. For about forty years or so I've collected ceramic and resin witches mainly. I've been given some, I've bought some, and I've made some. A few are fiber optic, a couple are animated, but mostly they just sit...and sit pretty [insert witch's cackle]. Throughout the month, I'll be posting photos of my witches haven, my jack-o-lantern corner, skull sanctuary [this is Bud's favorite Halloween fixture], grim reapers [another Bud favorite] and ghost alley. So, stay tuned. I'm just getting a good start ---

This set [and photo below] is something I found last week that I thought was just too cool to pass up! I bought a couple of them --and the design on them matches my Blog Header!!! Too sweet!! It's a hand towel for the kitchen. The captions say: "Stop for a Spell". And then the matching hot pads! Again, it has the cute little witch graphic to match my blog design. Of course Bud thinks I'm crazy for buying such nonsensical items for the kitchen instead of knick knacks, but hey...I think it's kinda cool. Okay, okay, call me crazy...it's forever fun for me this time of year.

[comment here if you wish to skip over my Treat Handout below]

<♥><♥><♥>

Last year, I started a tradition of handing out "treats" and not tricks for my commentors. I will again do the same. If you leave comments for me for anytime during the week, I will choose three to five of those that leave a sweet treat for me in the comments! [the sweet treat being kind words!] But to be fair to all the others, just don't grab this for yourself...it's not something for everyone...you have to be picked as you come knocking on my door blog comment link...and actually LEAVE a comment. I then will pick the recipients. And don't feel cheated, I am going to hand them out daily up until Halloween!!! You have all month to be chosen.

So, check back often, you're name may show up here!
To begin my traditional fun, as I love Halloween, today's recipients will be:

Pea
Mary
Sue
Sandy

AND!---here is your treat:

[just click on the treat and then it'll open in a new window...grab it there and save it if you'd like to.]

  2. Anni,

I love your Halloween decorations so far. That towel and the matching hot pads are delightful. I can hardly wait to see your witch haven and your jack-o-lantern corner. You decorate with such creativity.

Your solar lights are awesome. I've never seen solar Halloween lights but then again I wasn't looking for them. I think I will go back to the little store near here that specializes in all kinds of holiday items. They usually have some great stuff.

Thank you so much for presenting me with this delightful award. I will add it to my sidebar.

    Blessings,
    Mary

  23. I have never seen solar decorations! Where did you get them? I just don't do anything for the holidays since my divorce 10 years ago....not much fun by oneself. But I might just get back into decorating next year...especially after seeing everyone's neat things!

Your towel and pot holder set is adorable, and for it to match your blog header is just amazing!!!

I am going to enjoy looking for more of your decor as the days go by!

    Have a great weekend!

  24. ROFLMBO! Are you suuuuuuure October isn't just your FAVORITE month PERIOD??? I know you love Christmas too... but I've ALWAYS thought you REALLY get into Halloween even MORE! Nobody enjoys this season like you do... nobody! I do LOVE your yard displays -- I actually bought a "plug-in" light up pumpkin yesterday... decideded I'm not carving one this year! UGH! Lazy just takes over EVERYTHING in my life! It is cute though! I'm happy with it! Like your little tea towels too! Ya know... I can remember back when you had to either really HUNT for Halloween decorations - OR you had to make them yourself. NOWadays... EVERY holiday is handed to you on a silver platter - and for just a "little bit" of money lotsa times! I still like my home made stuff best though!

  25. I so love those solar powered lights and didn't realize they had them for Halloween now! Awesome. You'd love my color changing mushrooms.
Can't wait to see more of your witches. I guess I have more of an assortment, but I have the Enesco figurines dressed in Halloween costumes-like little bunnies and bears. My son was born on Oct 24th, so he's always been my real life pumpkin.
Thanks for stopping by my blog.

  26. Anni - I think for this month you're little witch up there should turn spammers into lopsided llamas or something!

  37. I enjoyed seeing all of your Halloween ‘goodies’ today … and LOVED sharing the gift (accompanied by Haiku) that you gave ME on Wednesday. I even dug up a couple of appropriate graphics to ‘get in the spirit of things’ at Small Reflections … though I suspect making significant ‘seasonal changes to any of my blogs isn’t likely to happen … just because.
    Hugs and blessings,
