We've been getting heavy downpours each morning around 2 a.m. for several days now; saturating the ground. Then...Wednesday ---9-11" of rain fell in a short period of time. Within an hour: flooding streets, closing highways and roadways...even the Naval AIR station shut down because of heavy flooding. It's to last up until 1 pm Thursday. Naturally I haven't gone birding in quite a while; sticking close to home and dubbing around the yard [before it got so wet and pools of water lying in the low spots kept me from that]. These photos are all taken from the interior looking out windows. The last droplet is hanging onto a hurricane shutter.

I have been seeing about the texas floods on T.V. I'm glad you are O.K. Was not abe to get your video. I like your flower pots, and hope all your flowers hold up to all of this water.

Deletei check my radar many times a day and I can see you on our radar and we are praying it will come our way and yet it contunes to pour on you and we get not one drop. we have had to add water and add water to the pool and am now ding a rain dance that yours will move here today or it will have to be added today. the bottom of the pool is full of dirt from high winds for days now blowing the black sand like a cloud because of lack of water.. that is a LOT of water in your photos. stay safe ... and you will need the repellent when it stops for sure

DeleteGreat rainy day photos though I hope it stops now for all your sakes. It rained hard here a few days ago. My hubby to kill time while waiting for the car in the dealership because of some recall issues, went for a walk and slipped in a muddy pool. Socks and shoes have been thrown away. I said maybe we could throw them in the washer but he deemed them too far gone. Happy day to you Anni, with no rain :)

ReplyDeleteI remember those downpours. One of the worst things was the grass growing and growing and no way to mow, and St. Augustine is such thick grass, too. I love the photos of the situation, especially that one fat drop just hangin' there!

DeleteYikes. It's so wet! We have been rain free for too long and the grass crunches in spots where the sprinkler doesnt reach. I've seen the (too much) rain covering your area on tv. And one of my IG friends has encroaching water. Mother Nature is not nice some times. And now, the rainy season is about to start for real, and that "H" word.
