Hilltop Community

I got a late start on Friday morning's walk. There was a predicted dense fog for the early morning hours I usually leave. So I waited. I've driven in fog so much here of late, I just didn't want to on this particular day. Mainly since the highway I planned on taking has been under construction for the last 6 years and the TXdot [Texas Department of Transportation] has narrowed the old highway quite a lot [most drivers do NOT slow down thru the work zone either].  The thing is, waiting too long, the sun beating down on the trails, makes for a hot walking time. I cut it short again. For two reasons, the heat was nearing 80 degrees already, AND this particular fitness trail complex had a covid testing facility open at the hour I arrived, so crowds [vehicles] everywhere. Even tho I could get around them, and get to the trail, I had no patience for it. I made the walk short just in case MORE of those wanting tested didn't block me in by walking too long. Besides, this park really has not much wildlife interest for me; just lots of hilly trails to get a good workout. This is my series of photos taken...

And you know by now, when I find hearts in nature, I "naturally" get a photo! As I neared the small incline on the trail in the last photo, I spotted what I thought was a "heart" in the branch over-hang...the open air being the heart. Maybe it was my imagination gone amok, 'cause I can't see it as clearly as I initially thought!!

  3. I love those heart, Anni. I've heard that once a person becomes aware of the abundance of hearts everywhere, they can easily notice them. I have a hard time... maybe because they're just not on my mind. ~Andrea xoxo

  13. This looks like a great place to walk and get your steps in too. Too bad about all of the people and fog hampering your day.
Just getting out can be enough therapy sometimes.
    Enjoy your weekend.

  14. Yes, I see the hearts. I love to find them also. Saw one in my bathroom sink this morning...the way the soap bubbles and water were moving around one area made a heart and I took note of it. No pictures, however. LOL. I am glad you persevered and still took your walk as you got some lovely pictures. There is always something beautiful waiting for us when we take the time to look! Have a blessed weekend and Happy Thanksgiving!

  26. That looks like a wonderful place to walk....I would not want to be there if lot of people were there. Not just because of
Covid, but because I would come to a place like that to get away from everyone. LOL
