Like Garfield Says....CANdy, Candy, CANDY!!

Just one more image....I've been meaning to show you the photo bomb of Tilda! I went to Hobby Lobby and used the online coupon for the store to buy her a special broom. As soon as I set her on the back of the couch for a picture, Mr. Tubbs [aka Isaiah] wanted in on the action....

Friday, I had a choice of staying home or going to the Hawk Watch Seminar/Festival in Calallen, Texas. The show didn't start until 2:30 pm and to me, that is when the day starts to wind down. I'm an early morning person. I opted to stay home. Saturday, the 2nd day of the festival, the show begins at 10:30 in the morning.  I'll have time BEFORE the show to go walking/birding. That's more like it. So, instead I got out my sketch pad and sketched...this is just a rough sketch, no particular exactness or liking; just a quick piece of work...25-30 minutes and I was done with it...

...and while I was drawing, I was wishin' I had some of the Hershey's Holiday Kisses to snack on. Ya, I know....bad. And loaded with sugar. But, sometimes y'just gotta have it. Well, naturally, the kind I have as a favorite is NOT in the STORES until the Christmas Holiday Season. I noticed some candy warehouses have them on their websites, but really, just how OLD are they? I'll wait 'til the stores have them restocked. After Halloween candy is gone from the shelves. Wait? How OLD ARE THOSE seasonal bags of candy? They're so good. White creamy chocolate [no caffeine like milk/dark chocolate] with surprising shards of candy cane. Delicious. Melt in your mouth delicious. And a refreshing treat. I stopped eating chocolate a few years back, so this is my special holiday treat. Can't wait. I will buy a few bags to get me through the holiday season. Oh oh, another thought just crossed my mind....soon, it's Southern Comfort's Traditional Egg Nog. [no alcoholic content]. That's a standard from Thanksgiving to New Years's here too...adding fat cells as I type.  Sometimes I am known to collect fat cells.

Of course, just thinking and droolin' at the thought of those kisses, I had to do a Google....

How many kisses does the candy company, Hershey's make?  Well the number is staggering!!!
the company puts out 60 million Hershey kisses each day

Read about the history of the company and Mr. Hershey from the link provided if interested.

If you need me I won't be home...will be watching the hawk show!!

  1. Thank you for the link Anni, I shall check it out. My favorite motto is a little bit of what you fancy does you good, and that goes for chocolate :) It's extra special when we don't eat it that often. Your sketch of the owl is gorgeous and I look forward to hearing about the hawk show. Have a great weekend!

  2. Hershey makes a cherry cordial kiss that I absolutely love. But then again there are very few hershey kisses that I don't like. I don't think I've ever had the candy cane ones. That egg nog sounds good too. The holiday months make it really hard to stick to a healthy diet.

  4. Around this time of the year I begin to hanker after chocolate, too. I indulge occasionally, just like you. Enjoy that hawk show and then share your pictures, Anni! :-)

  5. I'm not crazy at all about chocolate but give me sugary pectin jellybeans, candy corn and marzipan - in season, of course! Tilda and Tubby make a great couple!

    1. I DO like jelly beans. I think tart cherry would have to be my favorite flavor. Yours?

  6. Hum, didn't know white chocolate was caffeine free. Good to know. Morning person here also-best part of the day. I tend to have the bedtime of an 8 year old on a school night.
Hope the Hawk show is fun and interesting.

  7. I ADORE the photo of Isaiah and the witch! In fact, usually your artwork is my favorite, but not today. The kitty and witch are just too cute!! What a good idea to buy her this small broom, I would never have thought of that. I know those white peppermint kisses! They are so good! Wonder how many different kinds of special kisses are made? Your owl drawing is wonderful, so exact and just perfect.

  8. that is a staggering amount of candy, no wonder Americans are so overweight. I have not seen the red striped kisses, only the chocolate kind. I wish I could draw an owl like this and in such a short time.. love the photobomber... me to on nothing in the afternoon, I like my life lived in the am

    1. I'd say it's more fast food that's the culprit & lack of exercise.
