A Litttle Holiday Cheer!

This year, there is no big tree decorated, there is no large display of my Santas. I am playing it safe this time around. Any Santas I brought out are not the ceramic ones...nothing breakable here! Maybe ONE on the dining room table that is so heavy I don't think he'd could budge it if he wanted to. Of course, I could be wrong!!!! Only the ones safe from much harm. Why? Look, you can see why.....

Ho, ho, ho....Isaiah takes notice of everything and anything that seems out of place or something new added!!  Even Rudolph's nose so bright!!!

In the meantime, I decorated the entertainment center [he hasn't jumped up there yet] with my ruby glass and lights. I also bought a very small fiber optic tree. I hafta have a tree, but I'm not wanting all my blown glass ornaments broken with him battin' 'em around.   I added some of my wood and woolen, old world santas on the fireplace mantel. I brought out my quilt and my crocheted afghan. I don't even think I'll buy my traditional poinsettia either...don't want him chewing on it!!! But, I think this will be the extent of my decorating this year.....

...at night with lights:

The "Believe" is wood. I drew the pattern, Bud cut it with his jigsaw, and then I painted it. We made this after going to the theater to see Polar Express...a now traditional movie we watch along with Jim Carey's Christmas Carol.

....on the positive side of this all is....
I WON'T HAVE MUCH TO PACK AWAY EITHER!!!!

  1. What you put out looks great. I always worried what each new pet would do on their first Christmas. I only ever had one cat who tried to climb the tree and knocked it over. The rest would just lay underneath

    1. None our cats climbed...but they LOVED batting the ornaments off onto the floor. And Isaiah gets into EVERYthing!!!

  2. Since Lili joined our home, we have not put up a tree. She is too excitable, and it would be a disaster. Goodness she leaps like a Circus Animal and at 80 pounds that would be deadly! My little tree and some small decorations are just fine.

  4. Candles in the fireplace! What a "cool" idea! We haven't had a fire in years. Even a little smoke makes my head ache.

  5. I think your decorations are just right. But I am a minimalist when it comes to decorating anything. I'm thinking about buying a wreath for the front door, though. :-)
