"El Diablo"...aka Isaiah again....

I've been 'cat proofing' the house!! It's been such a long time since we've had an active, curious, kitten that I've forgotten what it was like!! 

So, now, instead of all my glass trinkets and foil decorations around for the 4th of July...I have to get them out of Isaiah's way for safety, and also to try and keep them from getting broken by an over-zealous paw!! He has now realized that there are BIRDS at the feeding stations just outside the dining room windows also...that's a riot!!!

I  finished a great book! A page turner. And, after I finished it...I actually read the epilogue. Rarely do I take the time to read the prologue or the epilogue. I usually just dive right in to chapter one. I don't know what possessed me to do so, but I'm glad I did, otherwise I would have just gone through life not knowing that the main character, tho fictionalized in context, was actually a real woman who long ago wrote a life memoir of her growing up and living in Africa. The character's name [and real woman] was/is Beryl Markham. She was the very first aviator; woman, to fly across the Atlantic, solo, east to west...non-stop!!

Going back to the book itself, Circling the Sun by Paula McLain, she accomplished to bring to reality the incredible life journey of Ms. Markham!! The entire book, from beginning to end was as if I was there beside her, learning...suffering...experiencing loss and heartache. Her milestones, love of horses, training, and love interests and uncharted adventures of women in that era!  From page one....the author has us geared up for a 'full-throttled adventure'!!!  Fasten your seat belts!!!

After finishing that historical novel, I immediately picked up a 2nd book of the same author and began reading this one....The Paris Wife...Ernest Hemmingway's first wife [first of four I believe]. And this one also promises to be a page turner...I'm already half way through it after a day's reading.
