Got a good reason For taking the easy way out

No Dumping HERE

On Sunday Bud and I took a drive just to get out of the house before the playoff games began [I wasn't thrilled with the two teams that will vie for the super bowl game either]. Anyway, it began a bit overcast and there was a chilly wind blowin'!! We ended up in Port A on the island, and was hoping to see the two Whooping Cranes that have been reported on our local news. But, at the time we arrived...no luck.

I didn't take many photos that day either, except for these:

On the island, as I have said so very often since Hurricane Harvey, there is still a lot of repair work being done where hardest hit. A luxury subdivision was one area that had a lot of roof damage on the homes...and even on Sunday...the contractors were hard at work replacing slate [tile] shingles on homes...and then when I stopped the car, on a cul de sac, to get out and view the ponds in the back of these homes for bird activity, I spotted this sign and had to laugh....

...why? Ironically, the sign posted was next to a port-a-potty!!
I'm sure those that posted these [they were all over the street where they were working]...I'm sure they were there to mean 'dumping' as in hurricane debris...but, near the port-a-potty, that gave me a whole different picture in my mind!!!!

  1. LOL, funny sign and location for it. I would have taken the same meaning you did because that's just the way my mind works.

  2. You do know your birds and your blog is wonderful to show them off. Isn't it nice to be able to just take off and ride around to see what you can see?

  3. brahaha on the dumping sight. i have never understood why people here dump things in odd places. we have free curbside pick up of almost everything. they do charge 10 for refrigerators or washer dryers. I saw theis morning that Irma has left 16 RV's in a canal in the keys and they are struggling to clean out all the canals. nature dumped them there.

  5. You have caused a chuckle here with the photo of the sign and your comment. The eerie trees got my attention as well.

  7. Anni, That gave me a whole different picture in my mind as well. People need to take into account surrounding structures when placing signs. Love your photos, as always. Drop by my Writing Nook if you have time.
