Birds on a Wire [and Fence]

We took a short drive around the Chapman Ranch area, southwest of town, in search for the reported Burrowing Owl. We never found it, but I stopped to get photos of this...

...and this

    1. God forbid....altho, the debate is something they may understand better than we do. What a fiasco.

  7. LOVE these bird shots!! So unusual and cool. All lined up straight, and with the hay field behind them. In the first picture, it looks like one bird is on the hay, optical illusion. I think he is perched lower on the fence. Good thing there is no pie crust nearby!!

  10. The birds on the fence reminds me of a local attraction. You can always see the fence there loaded with seagulls. I always like seeing them all lined up

    1. Me too...there is something about birds on a fence or a power line.

  11. I was always under the impression that the birds perch on wires and fences when there is a low barometric pressure and rain might be arriving soon. Also they usually face into the wind so their feathers don't get puffed in the wrong way, isn't that correct?

    1. Rain? What's that? We haven't had rain in so long.....lol

I really had not heard any of this about the barometric pressure and facing the wind. New to me.

  15. If you give us a couple R's, we could be sitting pretty on the fence, too!
