“A wise old owl lived in an oak;
The more he saw the less he spoke;
The less he spoke the more he heard...
Why can't we all be like that bird?”

Two Wise Men....aka one man, one woman

Over the holiday weekend, one day, to avoid the high volume of holiday shoppers, we decided to go birding at the local botanical gardens. We did see a special bird in the wetland area, and the very common birds such as grackles, mockingbirds, ducks on Gator Lake, etc. But we also found a huge migration of butterflies!!

They were everywhere...

We enjoyed our 4-5 hours there that day. As I stated, the one special bird, the walk along the Oso Creek, the flower gardens ---the rose pavilion was all abloom and gorgeous on such a sunny day!! The orchids, the boardwalk, the outer banks of the gardens with the wetland reserve, etc. A wise decision to make instead of all the hassle of traffic and maniac shoppers.

This will be continued on the next post....

  5. How beautiful is that! We once saw a migration of Monarch butterflies in a little village in Mexico. The whole woods and road were covered in butterflies! Such a blessing to be able to view that. Thank you for sharing it!

  8. The first picture would be so pretty in a frame. John just bought my little beige Ford Ranger from me and he is taking all the butterfly decals off that I put on the windows. Do I like butterflies? Yes, I do.

  18. I love this. I adore butterflies.
    I don't have your email, so to answer your question: the overpass will be repaired by the DOT in charge of that road. However, the trucker will be paying huge fines for wrecking it. That helps fund repairs. If he is a company driver, he probably lost his job. No excuses.
