Summertime Shadows

In my previous post, I mentioned a tidbit on how well the flowers in our yard are doing...and after planting my newest hibiscus in the flower garden, I had to snap a photo of it to share. In turn, I walked around the yard a moment or two and took more photos to show the colors and shadows early in the morning:

Top to bottom/Left to right:
Rose colored -Hibiscus
Lemony yellow [one of my favorites!] -Hibiscus
My newest yellow with red center -Hibiscus
Cormorant in a tree - City park
One of two variegated leaf Hibiscus [hybrid and miniature in size]
Salmon multi-petal -Hibiscus
Mexican Bird of Paradise bush [love the fern-like leaf clusters!  This one was grown from a seed pod that I took when we left our yard in Tucson]
Don Juan Climbing Rose
Hot pink -Hibiscus during the sprinkler system watering
...and at night again...the ephyllium blossom. [2nd time in a little over a month it brought on blossoms!!!]

    1. It's not all that unusual to see one perched in a tree, but it's still something that astounds me to see them ---their feet shouldn't be adapted for branch perching. But somehow they accomplish it.

  2. The lemony coloured hibiscus is really so lovely! I don't think I have seen this shade of hibiscus before! And the others look delightful and healthy!

Thanks for coming by and doing the poll thingy. I was very interested in how bloggers were feeling about this touchy issue...there's so many more important stuff going on (as in Wash.)that I am not giving this much thought.:)

  9. You have such pretty flower. I don't have much of anything in my yard any more. I tore up one flower bed last year because it was overtaken by weeds and I just hadn't been taking care of it.

    1. lol...which reminds me of one time Bud was out in our backyard in Colorado, spraying weeds....and he sprayed along the foundation. Only to kill off every single 4 o'clock plant there! They never did come back up.

  22. Your flowers, actually your entire garden, are beautiful. The bold hues are what we love to see around our abode, each one adding a glow to our everyday at home. The bird loos at the photographer and decides that his/her best side is ready for the shot - a proud yet beautiful avian!
