Tho there are TWO hummingbirds in the photo, I thought the shadow of the one feeding made a GREAT shadow image on the tree's bark. By the way, the park has dozens of hummingbird feeders all over the area, thanks to volunteers who keep them replenished during the migrating season....

SUNDAY'S SUMMARY
Not much happenin' this week. Too many hours spent revamping and renewing the computer to tell you the truth. I think most of all the glitches are finally getting cleared up. At least the cpu is running a bit more smoothly now. Other than that, laundry, cooking, plumbing problems solved [outdoor water line], a little bit of birding...and TWO days of RAIN!!! [not all at once tho, this past Monday and then last night into this morning]. Every little bit helps. Of which I'm very thankful. But now, it's like walking outside into a steam bath. LOL....but, I'm pleased for the rain.
Oh Anni this is a very artsy picture. You know how much I love hummers. Excellent shot you deserve a cookie!

DeleteIt's good you have two feeders for all the hungry humming avians - if only one, you'd need air traffic control to make airspace and landing space available...it does seem that TX is getting a lot of rain, too bad not so much last year and this...

DeleteI love watching birds. My daddy used to have many birds but I made him give them away because I didn't want to keep them in a cage. I also just learnt there is a type of very pretty bird named The Great Tit (no pun intended). I just joined the Howloween Bog Hop, thanks to your side bar link.

DeleteAs for rain...we got more last night too. AND...it's been since February of this year since any significant rainfall arrived here.
Gorgeous! I love hummingbirds ... there are usually several who visit our hibiscus out on our check, but the poor hibiscus stopped blooming once it got hot (late May) and never recovered.

DeleteI just love those bird feeders! What do you put inside? We have something similary that gets filled with a mixture of water, sugar and RED food colouring. We have little yellow weavers that finish it off in a couple of days. No humming birds though! Awsome shot! We've had our first summer thundershowers here too - bringing promise of good hot summer! Happy Days!

DeletePS I just saw the pictures of Winston and Tahoe!! Oh that is too funny and a good shot indeed. When we are away I put out two boxes for the diva..she uses one for each of her functions...however when we're home she is ok w one. I gave up figuring out her mind!

DeleteThat is indeed a Great Humming Bird shadow. The Park sounds like a great place to visit and see the little hummers. I tip my hat to the volunteers that keep the feeders filled, what a great thing to do.
ReplyDeleteGlad you got your computer functioning again. They can sure be a pain when they have problems and very time consuming to repair as well.
So far, knock wood, everything continues to improve. I spent a few minutes again this morning getting a new virus protection installed, I think that was the culprit all along!!! Everything disappeared after I updated it [the old kind I had beforehand]....and got this different one ---stuff began to reappear almost instantly!!!

DeleteHello Anni. First off, I love your new Halloween Decor. You have always been an artistic person at decorating your blog. I love the picture of the hummingbirds. My Mom used to have some hummingbird feeders at her house. She even had some kind of greenery planted in the ground that bloomed some red buds early of the mornings and the hummingbirds would get around that and feed off of that. I think it was some kind of Cypress. That's been a while back and I've slept since then. LOL. We got some rain here Thursday morning and again some on Friday. It started raining late this afternoon and supposed to rain tomorrow. I'm like you, Thankful for any rain we get at this point as it has been so dry here this past Summer. Some of the farmers are probably not liking it as they have started picking cotton and cutting some beans. Oh well, it's just one of those things you have to put up with being a farmer. Take care my friend and have a great week.

ReplyDelete...actually, the digital camera has a shutter delay. Of course, I have it on automatic focus and that helps immensely.
