From this site: The color red spectrum is beautifully vibrant and has high energy. It is the most intense color of the rainbow. It is a brave, bold, hot and intense color. People who prefer red usually have an energetic and dynamic personality.

Well, the long holiday weekend is a way, Summer has begun. LOL....lots o' vacations for some, the warming days, the longer daylight, school out for a few, things like that. We didn't go anywhere, we cleaned house and just sat around. There was a marathon of BOYS of SUMMER on USA cable. When our work was done, we both had some fat free vanilla yogurt. Later in the evening, Bud grilled some hot dogs and we just lazed around. We figured the beaches were packed with BBQ'rs and Picnickers, and swimmers and perhaps a bit of para-sailing and such. Better for us ol' folks to be safe indoors....let the highways be crowded with the 'revelers'. I wasn't online much at all in the last few days, so I'm hoping to catch up and visit those who've visited me. Hope y'all had a great weekend.

  1. Love your Amaryllis blooms, the red is stunning, and it is my absolute favourite colour. In fact I was married in red, second time around of course.

What a great way to spend the long weekend, sounds wonderful. Our long weekend is this coming weekend, it is Queens Birthday Weekend, we celebrate Queen Elizabeths birthday three weeks after it acutally happens?? It will be cold and wintry, but relaxing.

  2. Beautiful flowers ! it's nice to just laze around and not be with the crowd at the beach !

  3. Look forward to a visit and a caption for my freaky photo.

  4. Anni, your Amaryllis are beautiful!

  5. The flowers are so pretty!

  6. Your Amaryllis are simply stunning! I had bought an Amaryllis plant one year and it bloomed that first year but then never came back up...waaaaa I must have killed it! lol

Sometimes the best way to celebrate a holiday is to just stay home and relax. As I get older, the less I want to be where it's crowded.

Guess what, Anni? We're having some heat over here, supposed to feel in the 90's with the humidity!!! Nope, I'm not gonna complain, it feels good not to be frozen! lol xoxo

  9. Anni the amaryliss is beautiful.
We might have missed our window of opportunity for a spring beach trip. We should have gone in April. We were thiniking of a day trip this week. But the temps will be too dang hot. 97 today with heat index of over 100 the rest of the week very near the same
We are hoping for some cooler days in June before the long dog days of summer in July and Aug.

    Red Tuesday

  13. We learned long ago not to travel on holiday's not worth the stress! We stayed right here but two of our lovelies were here with a couple of their friends--it was quite nice! Red is my favorite color- I remember when it first became my favorite--I was three years old!

  14. You are so right about the color of this Amaryllis is simply stunning! Sounds like you are in the Lazy hazy daze of summer! The heat just takes it out of you! At least it does me and the hubs! stay cool n keep on blogging!

  15. Is this an invitation to stop by the Hootin' Home for a party??? I'll so be there!!!!

  16. Hey Anni,
Your comments om my blog made me laugh! hehe I was trying to be funny/entertaining/witty.
These flowers are a stunning colour, i so wish it was summer again. Its the first day of winter here! x

  17. Anni,

I LOVE your collage! Too pretty. Glad that you relaxed and avoided the crowds and enjoyed each other's company. I hope that your week is just as nice.

  18. Summer? Not in these parts. I just cancelled campground reservations because of more rain in the forecast. This is California, a Mediterranean climate, it doesn't rain here in June.

  19. Such gorgeous collage!

Late bloghopping for RT, hope you can peek at my entry, thanks.

  20. Beautiful redness. Sounds like a perfect holiday to me. We spent some time (or rather Dwight did) helping Kev and Angie get ready for their marathon drive to Maine. We had our annual picnic (inside this year) at Mom and Dad's, with far fewer people than usual. It was cold and windy. Today was beautiful for a change.

I'm sorry I haven't been around again - it seems to take me a week to post, and then catch up.

  21. Invite me to your front yard, pretty please?

Did part her fair lips as she said,
    “A daiquiri’s fine,
    And so is red wine,
    But I prefer claret instead!”

  22. lovely flowers, its good that summer has begun in your place. Here summer has just ended and we have rainy season now :)

  23. Those are lovely. I don't think I see too many here in NorCal. You've photographed them well. When I photograph reds, they're always too saturated.

  24. These are beautiful. I wish I still grew these.
Thanks for posting a nice memory for me.
