#46...

Bud was napping after lunch on Sunday. So, I played a little with my sketch pad and pencil. It started out with a rough sketch. Then, shading and detailing a bit. I tried to make it as simple as I could, and yet kept it fun. I was finished with it in about a half hour after the initial outlining. Years ago, I did #45 and liked how it came out, but this one is a bit different. All I can say is "I tried". So, now, I introduce you to my caricature of #46 [which in my opinion looks a bit too young]. But oh well, as far as caricatures go, they don't have to be accurate, right? I think his eyes are too wide open. Our Pres has squinty eyes. lol But, here he is...

Speaking of #45 & #46, I was out on Amazon a few days back, and found a gem.  I just had to order it.  I could NOT not resist.  When it arrives, I will definitely show y'all.  I have a collection of these [which I'll get out of storage and share them too at the same time]...just to show them off and then, you can understand why I "had to have it".  This  paragraph is a bit of hint as to what I ordered.  I can't wait for it to arrive.  I hope it's close to what it looked like on the website.

Once again, News tells us another pro sport and winning results was caught cheating...football, basketball, baseball, horse racing, etc. What is the purpose behind this? Money of course!! It's all about money. This is why I stopped watching my favorite games for now!!  The winner of the Kentucky Derby, the horse Medina Spirit, was tested positive for drugs just after the race. Like I said before, all sports, including the famous races [triple crown] there  always seems to be cheating.  And, per usual, the accusations and behind the scenes, there is denial.  None the less, the horse had drugs/steroids injected.  This is one reason we stopped following the race years ago.  Too much of misconduct going on.  And don't get me started with politics of it all...

On a happier note. The rocket from China landed in the ocean. Debris was little, it burned up considerably during re-entry. We're safe. THIS time.

Today Bud and I celebrate our 53rd anniversary!!

  3. Happy Anniversary... the lamps were flea market finds back in the mid 80's. I do not watch anything that involves racing animals and voted to do away with grey hound racing here, which we did. it hurts my heart to thik that beautiful horse was in pain and they injected him to race him. to me horse racing and dog racing is a cruel thing to do. Anything that involes making money there is always cheating and lieing and someone getting hurt.

    1. This is exactly what I said to Bud, just minutes ago. If that horse was in pain...enough for steroid injections, it was inhumane to run it!!!

  4. Enjoyed 46. Now you have me curious about his eyes. Hadn't noticed before.
I will never understand how cheaters can possibly think they have "won" anything. The Astros, the Patriots, horse racing?? And that trainer has been caught 30 times in the past 40 years. Why is he even allowed near a horse? Head shaking.

  7. Nice caricature. You've got the talent, for sure.

That man shouldn't be allowed near any race track, let alone horses. Not only is he a cheater, he's an abuser. If the horse wasn't fit or had pain, it's criminal to make it compete. Lots of cash tied up in pro sports, and any competitive sport, really. It ruins the pure ideal.

Happy Anniversary, and may you have plenty more.

  8. Happy Anniversary Anni and Bud! Your caricature is fantastic. I definitely would have known who it was it you wouldn't have told us. You amaze me! I was relieved about the rocket, and it's always depressing to hear about cheating. How do these people look at themselves in the mirror or sleep at night?!
