Park Trails...

Nothing is built in the USA anymore. Just the other day I bought a new TV and the box had "Built in Antenna"!! I have no idea where that is!!!

In the previous post I mentioned that after walking around the port and bridge construction, I drove to a nearby park in the city to see if I could find any birds of interest. The park was quite beautiful. Most all the flowering trees were in bloom and like snow laden branches for the most part. I'll just post photos for the scenery. The only bird worth watching for me was a well hidden white winged dove doing his courting ritual. The female dove was somewhere on the ground, probably, out of sight. Anyway, here are some photos of my walk along the park trails.  The beginning photo, by the way, is the Blucher landmark home.  This is the family from the 1800s that donated the land nearby the house for a bird sanctuary since the Mrs. was an avid birder.  Today it's called Blucher Park, and the residence is now a bed and breakfast:

  1. Hello,
It is a pretty park, the blooms are beautiful. The Doves are really shy here, they take off as soon as they see me watching. Take care, have a happy weekend!

  9. I have no idea where it is either, I wonder if it was an error in spelling? This is a stately and lovely old structure, from what I can see, just my kind of place to tour or spend as a bed and breakfast! Either way sharing it with folks is what's perfect. Such lovely gifts from nature that you've shared, it's sure beautiful there. Enjoy your week and stay safe!

    You commented:

"I just LOVE your "keeping up appearences" image!! It's perfect -you're gorgeous!!"

    That is NOT my photo!!!

That is the actor on "Keeping Up Appearances" old Brit tv series... Her name was "Hyacinth Bucket" but she wants it pronounced as "Bouquet." And it is a running joke, in the silly old series.

    Not me!!!!

  18. Hi Annie. I spotted a new bird today, and cannot identify it. My guess is a baby Blue Heron. Will you look at it? Here is my e-mail address, so you can send me something that I can reply to with the photo.

  22. I love the flowers, and recognize them! We called the pink ones "buttercups" when I lived in New Orleans, but I'm not sure they are actually called that. I think they are also known as pink primroses. Do I see a winecup furled? What a lovely walk. We have many, many white-winged doves here, and mourning doves. I love their calls. The white-winged doves are very frisky right now.

  24. Well, the white wing dove just didnt want to show his wonderful self I guess. Beautiful park. Absolutely love the pic of the chuck wills widow. I used to hear one here in the evenings, but its been awhile now. Hard to hear the little "chuck". Happy day, Ms. Annie.

  25. I just read your reply to Ann...that is fantastic that this is right downtown! For some reason the 4th photo is so interesting. Maybe because it is so different to the beautiful blooms shots.
