After Sunrise, On the Beach...

It's been a while since I have gone 'beaning' along the shores of the Gulf. And since where I walked on this particular day, a week after Hurricane Hanna, I thought perhaps it'd be a good day to hunt for seeds that drift on the water, and end up on the shore! I like finding the 'beans'...the heart shaped one and the 'hamburger seeds'. I didn't find but walnuts and a couple of black seeds, and two round seed pods, I just left them there for someone else that collects them for crafting and/or jewelry [see the heart bean necklace I made HERE].

I ended up tallying my 10000 steps easily since I didn't stop much to take photos nor was I carrying my heavy zoom camera.  Walking was light weight.  Oh, but to be different, I did take along my glass globe in my deep pocket.  Even tho, I only had my cellphone with me, I did take a couple of photos, at two different areas, through the globe.  It's been a while since I've done that...

Speaking of hearts. I like finding the shape of a heart in nature. This is one I saw along the shore as the surf washed my shoes. I stopped and got out my cellphone a 3rd time. Can you find the heart:

Look closely

See if you see what I saw HERE

I mentioned that I left the seeds on the beach for other crafters/collectors, which there are a lot of people scouring the area for those "special finds". I did, however, find two small pieces of driftwood that may be a artsy project in the future, and carried them with me and back to the car. Perhaps another wood carving craft for me coming up? I saw birds in both pieces. Potential bird carvings anyway. I may or may not attempt. Time will tell...

That was my walk for the morning. I did my step count, accomplished the number and turned around, got back in the car after showering my sandy shoes off at the shower head on the beach by the parking lot and headed home. Hot and sweaty, of course. It's the dog days of summer in South Texas...hot is to be expected [I don't have to like it a whole lot, but it's part of where I live!]

  1. Hello,
Great sunrise and walk. I like the beach treasures you found. The driftwood is great, I found the heart. Kudos for walking all your 10000 steps. Enjoy your day! Wishing you a happy new week!

  2. So interesting the things you can find on the beach! Love the driftwood, and yes, I can see birds in them. And I found the tiny heart! Took a minute, but there it was! I can imagine your walk was glorious on such a beautiful morning, even if it was a bit warm and humid...the glorious salt air is refreshing. Thank you for sharing it with us.

  3. I did not see the heart until I clicked on the link at look at the other one where you pointed it out then I went back and I could see it. I did not know what you meant by being by picking up beans until I clicked on the link and saw the necklace you made and I have seen a few of those but none are beaches. I saw them in the park somewhere I think. I think it's great that you can make things out of what you find on the beach

  5. Nope, I needed your help to find the heart. Once you did, it seemed obvious. What good eyes you have. That bean that you made into a necklace is really neat. You are creative.

  7. I like your heart seed necklace...I would like the driftwood just as it is even, but will watch and see if you carve something from them. I did see the heart...you have me now watching for hearts.

  8. I think I see the heart in the middle of that stone? I see the birds in your driftwood!! You do such a good job with your lensball. I keep forgetting I have one, and it is harder than it looks!

  9. How delightful to find the hearts everywhere on your walk.
You are so talented. I love the heart necklace you made...beautiful.
Wood carving? Is there nothing you can't create?
I see a bird sitting on a limb in that first photo.

  14. Boy it was not easy to see the heart. I only found it by reading the previous comments. I don't think I could endure your Texas heat for long, Anni. You are a real trooper, getting your steps in with that kind of weather! :-)
