Forget All Your Troubles and Go DOWNTOWN....

It's been foggy and damp and cold [for Texas] the last few days and I haven't gone out much to do any walking. When I did go out, it was just driving in the country, or to the store and back. A shut in has been my forte the last week, and I don't like it. One of the dreary days Bud and I watched the movie JOKER - only because of all the nominations and the high praise of excellence. I can't say anything good about it. Sinister and very mediocre both in script and acting. I wouldn't recommend this movie to my enemy even tho its purpose, I believe, is to give us why the Joker became the Joker in the first place [without giving out spoilers to his evil ways].  I am sitting here at the keyboard, trying to think of the best part of the movie for me...and I'd have to say  "The End"!!

Tuesday morning I made a point of leaving the house during the rush hour traffic [7:30ish] to make sure I got some steps counted for the day - in the fresh air -while the sky was clear!!   The first day in nearly a week with sunshine.  Altho the freeway traffic was stop and go for a few miles on two stretches, I finally got to the park. Granted, I had to take my time and not walk far since I've been recouping from a bad cold and my lungs still get wheezy if I over exert,  and now have to build my count up from scratch again.

This is what I saw:

Heavy rain is predicted, so this may be the only walk I get to finish until the weekend when it's supposed to have cleared out and get back to seasonal 70 degrees!!

  1. You must be suffering from withdrawls having to stay in so much. Sure looked pretty out there when you did get some walking in.

  2. That joker movie is getting mixed reviews. Some say it is victim blaming, as the Joker wasn't responsible for his reactions to his life events.
We are home, trying to recover. I getting antsy with hubby around so much! I need my quiet time.

    1. Like I said...why the joker became the joker. Still, it's not all that good as the critiques say. At least my opinion.

  3. I had misgivings about that movie and you confirmed that I don't have to subject myself to it. Your cold sounds awful but I'm glad you are on the tail end of it. Whenever I miss some time exercising, I always have to pretty much get used to it again. You are not alone. :-)

  5. That sure was pretty place to walk. So sorry you are still hanging on to your cold. A lot of that is going around. You have convinced me not to investigate the Joker. Thanks.

  6. WOW, what is this tree that the trunk looks like a pineapple? I have never seen such a thing. Glad you had at least one day out to walk. It is to snow here on the weekend, no going out for me.
