If you want to see heaven, brother, here's you chance I've been sent to spread the message God blessed Texas. First, He let the sun shine Then He made the waters deep Then He gave us moonlight For all the world to see Well everybody knows that the Lord works in mysterious ways He took a rest, then on the very next day God blessed Texas With His own hand Brought down angels from the promised land - lyrics "God Blessed Texas" Little Texas Texas, a prideful state. Just some images of what I see when I'm out and about--- TEXAS LONGHORNS TEXAS PRIDE Proud to Be an American - Proud to Be Texan!! On a Break...

A Drizzly, Chilly, day today!! Staying indoors, reading...working on another side of the garage. This time it's cleaning out storage boxes and stuff. Ewwww, a huge chore. I'm now taking a break. Got the laundry done early and Bud's taking his daily siesta. So, I'm playing around with FotoSketcher that I downloaded and installed a while ago. The newest version: 3.2.  After I post this, it's time to get back out in the garage and work some more.  "Break's over!"... Each fotosketcher image has an original insert.

Day Trippin'

SUNRISE OVER THE DUNES - halfway to Port A 1- Okay, so I drove to the islands again! Left about 30 minutes before sunrise. A cold front had moved in on Wednesday and the winds were brisk in the morning, but supposedly predicted to subside by mid morning. By the time I reached and crossed the JFK Causeway bridge to turn off Park Road 22 onto State Highway 361, the "Low Tire" light on the dashboard loomed into my face! Everything would still be closed since it was so early in the morning...." Do I stop at a gas station and put air in myself?" "I have no gauge, I wouldn't know but guess the amount of pressure I'm putting in and I don't want to blow a tire on the highway heading there! " This highway is now a two lane island road, being built into a four lane!! So, there are barriers all up and down the shoulders during the destruction construction...I couldn't even pull off to turn around unless I used the beach access roads. I

All American ...

There have been two at one time, in one day, reported seen at this refuge. I was lucky enough to spot ONE. Their natural colors and nature's way of camouflage continues to astound me with this particular species. As you watch the video [recorded while the bird was in the drying reed grasses], the bird's coloring and feather pattern is near identical to the grass swaying in the breeze!!! To underwater creatures, the American Bittern's presence can literally go unnoticed until it's 'too late'! It's also said that with the Bittern's action by stretching its neck upwards [as seen in the adjacent image], their neck becomes just 'another blade of grass'...and scientists surmise in theory this too is a way of defense...the Bittern's protection against its predators. The video is 3 minutes, luckily when I was recording this there were no other humans around and no one talking...so, you get the hunt of this bird of prey in all its natural glory!

"Can you hear me? Are you ready to shake up the world? Welcome to the revolution of love." "To the rebellion, to our refusal as women to accept this new age of tyranny. Where not just women are in danger, but all marginalized people." "It took this horrific moment of darkness to wake us the f**k up," "It seems as though we had all slipped into a false sense of comfort — that justice would prevail, and good would win in the end,” she began. "Well, good did not win this election. But good will win in the end." "To our detractors, who say this march will not amount to anything. f— you," "f— you." "Yes, I’m angry. Yes, I am outraged," she said. "Yes, I have thought an awful lot about blowing up the White House. But I know that this won’t change anything." She finished her speech by doing a call and response with the audience, chanting, "We choose love." courtesy of online news sites I ask,

All day Saturday, I ended up doing laundry and helping with the beginnings of gutting out our two car garage [only room for ONE car tho...so much junk stored there]. We did one complete wall and part of another. By that time, tossing stuff that hasn't been used in years went in the trash bins...in no time the two trash bins and our recycle bin were filled to the brim. We ache a bit from lifting and bending and sweeping and dusting and more lifting. You wouldn't believe just how much a coffee can weighs when filled with 'come in handy' bolts and screws and what-nots!! And Bud has 8 of 'em on just one shelf!! Oh my oh my. Why, just moving the huge vice to get the sawdust accumulation out from behind gave me a hernia. [kidding!] There are two things on the one complete wall that we just couldn't part with...Bull horns and an antique saddle frame! They were both full of cobwebs and mucky-muck. Bud drew the short straw and now has to clean 'em

Inauguration Day

On January 20th, our country's leader was sworn in. A New Dawn... ...A New Day ...Some may have ruffled feathers because of our POTUS ...While others are content and will go on living their lives as usual ...It's called Survival of the Fittest!! ...Late into the night, voices were still being heard. Why must they protest? Other than being arrested or harmed, the damages were a waste. Violence is something I just can't understand...we Americans who do this are nothing but 3rd world citizens in my opinion. Most Americans say they don't like to talk politics, but think about it...these are your 'neighbors'!!  Ummmm, open your eyes - this morning he's still our President whether you like the concept or not....
