WEDNESDAY HODGEPODGE
Joyce has these questions for us:

1. When did you last sing happy birthday to someone? When were you last sung to? Does that embarrass you or do you enjoy being the center of attention on your special day? I sing it to my sister each year...over the phone!! And she does the same to me. As for being the center of attention?------no, I like being in the background. A flower on the wall. I don't think I'd be embarrassed, but a bit ticked off more than anything. 'Cause everyone that knows me, knows better.

2. Name a famous or 'infamous' person (living or deceased) who shares your birth day and month. Is that someone you'd like to meet in person if it were possible? Here's a list I found online of my birthday celebs - - Famous People [link should open in a new window]...the only one I was sure of was Mia Farrow. And in all honesty, the ones listed, who would I like to meet?---None of the Above.

3. Someone hands you a box tied up in a lovely bow...what are you hoping to find inside? A whole slew of things could be inside...diamonds, money, round trip ticket to Europe, car keys to a new vehicle. Just 'bout anything would do. ;o)

4. What can you guarantee about yourself? Me, being me!!!

5. Talking art and beautiful cities here...'The Last Supper' in the Santa Maria della Grazie Abbey in Milan Italy or 'The Mona Lisa' in The Louvre, Paris...which would you most like to see up close and in person? Why? The Mona Lisa. Probably 'cause there is so much mystery behind the work, and the artist was a scientific genius!!  And Paris....no one could go wrong visiting there, right?

6. Your favorite dessert? PIE!!! In particular, cherry, pumpkin, apple, and most of all Blackberry pie. Mmmmm, mmmm, mmm!

7. This coming weekend marks the official start of autumn (in the Northern hemisphere)...what is something you do to get ready for fall? What is one thing you're looking forward to on your fall calendar? Spring or fall-which do you prefer? Things I do for Autumn? Look forward to cooler days ahead! Decorate for Halloween. And having part of the question being a preference of Spring or Fall -- I can honestly say both seasons are the two best for me. Spring 'cause of flowers and bird migrations. Autumn 'cause of Halloween and bird migration!! Oh ya, and here in South Texas our "Autumn like weather" isn't here 'til it's nearing Christmas. We only get about a month of Winter; and mild at that!!!

8. Insert your own random thought here. I received this in my email inbox and just had to share! Of course, the "F" word is often used throughout, but to keep this a family friendly blog post I changed the "F" word to "frigging"....

Computer Issues/Passwords
Setting your password on your online stuff and its issues you face between the server [in bold] and the user [in normal text]:

Sorry that password has expired- you must register a new one.
Did anyone discover that password and hack my computer?
No, but your password has expired- you must get a new one.
Why then do I need a new one as that one seems to be working pretty good?
Well, you must get a new one as they automatically expire every 30 days.
Can I use the old one and just re-register it?
No, you must get a new one.
I don't want a new one as that is one more thing for me to remember.
Sorry, you must get a new one.
OK, roses
Sorry you must use more letters.
OK, pretty roses
No good, you must use at least one numerical space.
OK, 1 pretty rose
Sorry, you cannot use blank spaces.
OK, 1prettyrose
Sorry, you must use 12 spaces or more.
OK, 1friggingprettyrose
Sorry, you must use at least one capital letter.
OK, 1FRIGGINGprettyrose
Sorry, you cannot use more than one capital letter in a row.
OK, 1Friggingprettyrose
Sorry, you cannot use that password as you must use additional letters.
OK...

  2. More amazing shots! I love the third picture.
I was just complaining about passwords yesterday. Our charting at work is done online, and lately they've been making me change my password way too often - drives me crazy! And then I have to remember it too. :)

    3. I've heard of them, but have never seen one.

  3. Wonderful catch of the great blue heron with a meal! Yeah, the password thing is so annoying. Making you change it every 30 days is bad enough, but why don't they tell you up front they require 1 capital letter, a numeral, 12 digits, and a friggin character?! Grrrrrrr

  27. bahahahahaaaaa!!!!! That whole password ditty is hilarious - and oh, so accurate! Our health insurance company has us create a 16 digit password, that must contain at least 3 capital letters, 5 numbers (but they can't be the same number), and 2 special characters... and we have to change the password every 6 months. You've GOT to be friggin kidding me... ;-)

  38. That Heron can't possible swallow his big fish!! He must have stomped on it and ripped it apart to eat it.

    1. My husband turned 78 here at the beach so 8 of us got together with a cake that was won by one of us at Bingo and we sat at a picnic table while singing Happy Birthday to him. The same thing happened in March when we were at the beach and everyone sang to me. I really hate to be pointed out.

    2. I've never been interested in ANYONE else who shares my birthday month or day, celeb or not.

    3. I would like to find something very simple that only I would pick out for myself. NEVER anything costly - perhaps seeds?

    4. I can guarantee that I will always strive for perfection, well knowing that not much can ever be perfect.

    5. Art is in the eye of the artist and I would rather see Vincent van Gogh or Salvador Dali or works of Pablo Picasso than any other. Italy would be my preference to visit, then Ireland and Egypt.

    6. My favorite dessert is definitely cookies! Homemade only. As many as I can eat.

    7. Fall brings comfortably cool days and breezes without so much humidity. I prefer Spring with all things coming back and being renewed.

    8. Random thought: I would like to be able to return as a "fly on the wall" and see how people will be living 500 years from now. I'll even bet that their third, ring and pinky fingers will be getting shorter as they will be unnecessary projections of the hands.

And......Why am I the only one that is compelled to answer ALL of the Wednesday Hodgepodge here?

  42. Good Morning, Love that last 'funny' about passwords. There is really so much truth to that... I laughed and laughed....

Here are my answers to the questions:

    1. I sang to my oldest son on July 18 on the phone... He turned 50.

    2. My cousin and I share a birthday --but she is YOUNGER (who isn't????? ha)

    3. Oh that is easy: an iPhone... We are talking about getting one --but it's only in the talking stages.. We have not made the move to a SMART phone.

    4. I will love George 'til the day I die --and will do everything I can to make him happy, healthy and let him know how much I adore him...

    5. The Last Supper for sure

    6. FATTENING Peanut Butter Pie my mother-in-law used to make for me before she died... Haven't had any since... Sigh!

    7. Got the fireplace/chimney cleaned and am looking forward to some fires this Fall/Winter.
