Got a good reason For taking the easy way out

Jewels of the Nile Gulf...

...amber, emeralds, diamonds, topaz and rubies
[Mellow Yellow and Ruby Tuesday]

How strange to greet, this frosty morn,
In graceful counterfeit of flower,
These children of the meadows, born
Of sunshine and of showers!

How well the conscious wood retains
The pictures of its flower-sown home,
The lights and shades, the purple stains,
And golden hues of bloom!

It was a happy thought to bring
To the dark season's frost and rime
This painted memory of spring,
This dream of summertime...

This week's topic for Tina's Picstory is *white*

White Trumpet Tree

Baubles and Blossoms of Winter

By the hearth there's
Baubles and blossoms of Winter

Outside; gems in bloom.
Inside; the jewels...no dimmer.
For there can be seen
upon entering the room...
A coat of silver & pearl...
His eyes, oh his eyes -
how they glisten 'n' shimmer.
In shades
of blue topaz and Aquamarine!!

By the hearth there's
Baubles and blossoms of Winter

  6. It is a lovely red flower, perhaps in bloom deep in the heart of your neighborhood - but a reminder that Spring up here will erase seasonal gray. Sir Winston is a lovely white cat, his piercing blue eyes can almost see through us. Which should elicit a purr pr two from that nice kitty!

  12. Hi Anni! I am just back from sick leave and catching up! Oh your beautiful, beautiful flowers and poems! Just what I needed in this bleak winter with not a flower to be seen. But your mushroom pics, and you took them with a cell phone??? Did I read that right?? They are the finest art, beautiful!!! You did it all for your followers and I appreciate it, none of my mushrooms look half as good!!!
