“A wise old owl lived in an oak;
The more he saw the less he spoke;
The less he spoke the more he heard...
Why can't we all be like that bird?”

From the movie: Memoirs of a Geisha Girl---
    "You cannot call yourself a true geisha until you can stop a man in his tracks with a single look."
She did!!

A new pair of earrings - Cloisonne and Geisha Girls in Red Kimonos
purchased at Forever XXI

Well, the Arctic Cold Front that was promised to us has arrived!! The blustery winds are here, the skies are filled with moisture [but no snow, I hope] all a powdery gray drabness above me...and the wind chill is probably close to 40 right now. There is a predicted freeze warning in effect and will remain for the early morning hours around here for the next three days. Highs in temps are only going to reach mid 40s today and a slow warming trend. But, come the weekend, it'll be back to normal and mid 60s low 70s. Ahhhhhhhhhh, I live for the weekend.

    i think you need to put on a pot of soup, keep the hot chocolate close by, grab a good book, then snuggle into a couch near a heater and wait it out... now, bring on the weekend!

  6. Great earrings, but I doubt they would help me to stop a man with one single look. It has something to do about age and general looks.
    I envy you the warm weather.

Praise God he got on a flight and so there WILL be a wedding WITH the groom! :) We were worried for a moment there. He arrives in South Africa tonight! YEHA!

  17. Arctic cold front and highs in the 40s just don't sound right in the same sentence.
    We have actually been comfortable in the single digits without wind. I know that won't last.
    Beautiful earrings. I have never seen any like them.

  18. brrrr, it's so cold EVERYwhere, it seems. We have yet to have our first real snow here in West Texas...had one little dusting.

    I LOVE those adorable earrings. So cute. It's been forever since I've had a new pair. I need to go earring shopping. I am bad to get one pair and stick to them.

    That area rug you saw in my post was one of my biggest bargains. I bought it from a friend at her yard sale for $25. and saw it in a catalog for $600. It is in perfect condition, huge at 12x14 and in my favorite shade of French blues. I just LUV finding bargains like that. :))
    Stay warm, sweet friend.

  24. Hi Anni. What delightful earrings. Noting your temps, it would seem that we are on the same weather track. It was near freezing last night and are now hovering at 45F. Alas, by Friday we will still be below 60. I miss my idea 70s.

    ReplyDelete
  25. Oh you wuss, 40F is practically tropical!! LOL Just teasing you of course as I realize that you're not used to cool temps over there. I just checked and it's 16F here right now, going down to 0F by this evening. When I went out earlier I had to let the car run for a while to warm it up, haven't had to plug it in yet, though, this year so that's good! Oh and guess what....I never wear a hat or gloves when I go out! lol

    Love those earrings, they're so darling! Never seen any like those before. xoxo
