FOLLOW ME TUESDAY linked button on SIDEBAR!! Click button to join And this is me in my Christmas garb just before we left to Cracker Barrel---Sunday morning, Bud and I got nerve to venture out. Being that we've been cooped up in the confounds of our 'four walls' since Thanksgiving. LOL I tend to go stir crazy if there is no day trips after a while. But, neither wanted to go too far as the likes of all the crazy shoppers on their last holiday break day was Sunday and more than half of the retail shops continued to have after Thanksgiving sales promoted on Sunday, in the wee hours of the morning, also. Well, we decided to go early, to Cracker Barrel. I always enjoy a meal out where I don't have to cook and clean up afterward. Tho, most times any more Bud does the cleaning up. Anyway, the first thing I notice when I walk through the door is all the Christmas goodies on display in their general store. Whoa. Some just took me aback! Cardinals. If it weren

The place was near Colorado Springs ---just about 85 miles from where we lived north and west of Denver. I only was given permission to call one year after I begged and begged---you see, back then, it was considered 'long distance' calling on the phone bill. My folks were very frugal and rarely allowed such frivolous spending sprees. LOL Nearly a half century ago, it was a place that was at one time "Top Secret" to most who lived in the United States, but to us Coloradoans, I'm sure 90% of us knew about its existence. By reading a bit of the history of this, a

Johnny Depp comes to mind, but I don't think I'd be asking too many questions...just drooling like a fool!! Why? 'Cause I like his 'anti-Hollywood' demeanor. ya, right!! 2. What do you feel is your strength as a blogger? Well, I try my best to be courteous and friendly to my visitors by paying a return visit to those I haven't visited already. Sometimes I can't 'cause life gets in the way...Also, I do take pride in designing 'original' blog templates for myself so it's not copied from other 'free template' sites!! 3. Can you share a little bit about yourself that you have not already mentioned on your blog? This guy from England gave me an engagement ring and we are to be wed next year on April 29th!! I remember asking here when the time is 'ripe' for picking...some said, "NOW" while others say, "Nope, wait longer." This is only the first year for our pomegranate tree to be planted and surprisingly we had it bare fruit the first season. I so love these. Being that they are very expensive per fruit in our stores here in Texas, with the ones that I just picked, it has already paid for itself!! Seriously. And the juices just flowed!! The flavor is unbeatable. The thing that tops it all off, I love 'em and they're good for me!! Unlike my love of cheeseburgers, y'know? Delicious! Read the health benefits of the fruit at THIS LINK

For me, personally, I stopped flying several years ago when I flew into Houston from Tucson to see Erik. I found myself walking through part of the airport both in Houston and in Tucson before boarding my flight....barefooted; all because of security checks. Back then, I thought that was not all that healthy...walking without protection on my feet...what germs were boarding my unprotected body! I didn't like it. And yes, maybe I have sanitary issues on that one subject...you can call me 'odd' or whatever you

Preparing for the Annual Feast....

CLICK EITHER BUTTON to join Flash Fiction 55 below my.... SHOW N TELL For the Thanksgiving holiday this year I've done very little when it comes to decorating the interior. And you can take that literally. Everything I put out around the house, it's all in miniatures. Here is the 'small' array of items placed here and there. The BIG thing for this special day around here is the BIG amount of calorie intake. I'll have the traditional turkey, dressing and cranberry waldorf salad. Along with mashed potatoes and turkey gravy, yams with brown sugar and marshmallows, homemade biscuits, relish dish with olives, cheeses, celery and pickled peppers, cole slaw, not to leave out the best part---------pumpkin pie and REAL whipped cream!!! Ahhhhhhhhhhh, it's a good day all around. While that's all cooking, we'll do our annual watching of the Dallas Cowboys [are they playing this year on Thanksgiving? I haven't checked their schedule...of course
