PHOTO HUNT: "Balance"
There are so many variables of the word balance. Weight...equilibrium, balanced diet, counterweight, symmetry,....I thought I'd go with the 'balance of nature'...a bit of symmetry in design that only nature creates----

balance - proportion: harmonious arrangement or relation of parts or elements within a whole (as in a design); "in all perfectly beautiful objects there is found the opposition of one part to another and a reciprocal balance" ----the tree and the photo composition is blanced being centered in the lens frame. And the beauty of the remaining change of color on the leaves during the winter, are naturally balanced!!! The photo was taken two days ago, at the Aransas Wildlife Refuge about 80 miles from our home on the San Antonio Bay along the coast of Texas.

Both photos are wonderful. I love the nature theme balance - an amazing thing. Enjoy your weekend.
ReplyDeleteTahoe is a very smart kittie. She sounds like a wonderful fur baby.
ReplyDeleteSometimes when stuff around me seems to be crazy, I need to walk through a forest to remind myself that balance does exist.
ReplyDeleteA beautifully balanced composition, both the photos and the post. :) Tahoe seems very well balanced too!
ReplyDeleteMine's here if you find time to visit.
i love your take on the theme and great photo as well!
ReplyDeletethanks for the visit! :)
balance. quite important in all aspects of life. in your picture, its beautiful. and rings of the season we are heading towards. my favourite one at that...
ReplyDeleteand tahoe is a cutie! cats may be cats, but each are a creature onto themselves. sounds like a character that one!
Nature is normally in perfect balance. It is to be hoped that mankind doesn't upset the balance too much.
ReplyDeleteThat is a great picture of balance of the tree and the bay. And the cat is too cute. We have a cat that will have conversations with me. In fact that is how she stayed here. She arrived a little tiny kitten all matted, and I meowed at her like crazy and she has been here for almost three years now. And she loves to talk to me.
ReplyDeleteI can't say more you nail it! Happy weekend!

photography is a lot about balance and then not balancing it as well:) the cat shot is a cutie
ReplyDeletenature, i believe, has natural balance. it's us who destroys the balance.:p
ReplyDeleteSomeone said to me just the other day: "Mother Earth knows what she's doing. We just have to pay attention." That perfectly describes the scene you're showing us, today. Perfect balance. :-)
ReplyDeleteThanks for visiting me!

ReplyDeleteWinston is cute and I don´t think he would have mind to bring home the mouse I did show either, they are cute in thier own kind of way the critters. Thanks for stopping by.
ReplyDeleteYou've to me thinking philosophically about the nature of balance as well as the balance in nature.
ReplyDeleteTahoe is gorgeous. Our Teddy is a talker. I'm not sure all the time what we are saying to each other, but it's fun!
ReplyDeleteI appreciate your take on the balance theme

ReplyDeleteSniffie and the Florida Furkids
Oh so true, the balance of nature. I love your take on this weeks challenge, and a very nice picture too. And Tahoe,is beautiful, what a sweet story about her. Thanks for the visit.
ReplyDeleteShe's adorable!
ReplyDeleteSmokey fetches too. I saw a program on cats where they said cats don't come when called or fetch things like dogs do. Whoever wrote the script didn't know his stuff. Smokey comes when called. He isn't a vocal cat most of the time but he is when he is trying to tell you its time to fill his dish. He's a lap cat too. The funniest thing is that when the phone rings and I start talking, he comes running and gets in my lap. I don't know whether it is because he thinks I'm talking to him or that he is jealous.
Mama Bear
what a beauty now i have a face with that name 1!sanyd
ReplyDeleteI really love your take on the balance theme! You, my friend, are taking some gorgeous pictures with that camera of yours:-)
ReplyDeleteTahoe is so gorgeous and I've always believed that cats can certainly understand every word we say! I grew up always having a cat and being French, my cats understood the French language! lol xoxo
Wow, look at the treasures you found! Don't you love bargains like that? hehe I was gone to Home Sense last week and was hoping to find some goodies in their leftover Christmas sales but no such luck. Also went to Michael's and again I struck out. lol Figures, I have all these gift cards for Home Sense and can't find anything I really want!!
ReplyDeleteI remember owning a cameo on a black velvet choker style ribbon and I so wish I still had it. I wore that thing with everything-) Love the one you bought, it's gorgeous. xoxo
Great post.
ReplyDeleteTahoe is beautiful! She sounds like a very nice cat! She looks just like my Gumdrop -- his photo is on my blog (the Jan 13 post). Thanks for visiting my Nature/Wildlife blog! Have a great weekend!

Anni,
ReplyDeleteVery pretty photo along the coast. Great shot.
Tahoe is a beautiful cat, as is Winston. I like the way she is looking up. It makes me think that she is curious about something.
I've never known a cat to fetch, but I'm sure they do understand us. Dakota enjoys fetching. He also knows the difference between his ball and his squeaky hammer. Yes, he has a squeaky hammer and understands when I say, "Where's your ball," or "Where's your hammer." Animals are very intelligent.
Hope you are enjoying your weekend.
Blessings,
Mary
What a sweet face! She is a beauty.
ReplyDelete3rd post on "balance" that I've read today. What sucks, it's been something nagging at my conscience today. rats, need to look at my 'balance'. Oh, and I like cats.
ReplyDeletei love the photo, a lot is going on but i'm riveted to the leafless brush, which in its nakedness reveals a wisely arrayed system of branches =] thank you for visiting my blog earlier!
ReplyDeleteTahoe is beautiful. A cat purring in your lap is such a comfort.
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful place to take photos :) I'm sure you enjoyed staying there :)
ReplyDeletewhat a very nice photo hunt post.
ReplyDeleteShe is a beautiful girl, her eyes are gorgeous. Your description of Tahoe's personality remind me of my Tasha fur baby from a a few years back. Your photo of the tree is a perfect balance and very lovely.
ReplyDeleteThrough Squirrel Eyes
She is such a beauty that I almost forget your "balanced" photo, lol !
ReplyDeleteSome cats are really special, it's like my little Rosie who gathers her mouse toys around the food bowls !
I love the photo from the wildlife reserve but Tajoe, now there is a handsome fellow. Have a great weekend
ReplyDeleteAs far as balance - you think too much! But I'm glad you do. And Tahoe, wow, she's great - I think there's some Maine Coon Cat in her somewhere by the looks and sounds of her.
ReplyDeleteGreat answers, such a great way to have a rant isn't it, I enjoyed doing mine Xx
ReplyDeleteIf only we could all find some of that balance in our lives! Have a great weekend.
ReplyDeleteI love that tree what I nice idea for the theme :-)
