“A wise old owl lived in an oak;
The more he saw the less he spoke;
The less he spoke the more he heard...
Why can't we all be like that bird?”

double damn [I wish]

( . )( . ) Whoa!

Have you ever wondered why A, B, C, D, DD, E and F are the letters used to define bra sizes? If you have wondered why, but couldn't figure out what the letters stood for... It is about time you became informed:

A ... Almost Boobs
B ... Barely there.
C ... Can't Complain!
D ... Damn!
DD... Double damn!
E ... Enormous!
F ... Fake

I'm not at all embarrassed or afraid to talk on the subject. But, I may be a bit ashamed that I must confess, I've not had it done in nearly 4 years!!! That, really, is inexcusable. I always have in the back of my mind that "I don't have any cancer in my family history". Well, thing is, I may be the first! Y'know?!! So, the other day when I had my routine physical, my primary care physician's nurse set up an appointment for me to have my mammography. See? The last time I had it done there was the 'old fashioned' x-ray machine. This time, I think I didn't mind it at all. In fact, when it was done, I was impressed with modern technology and the advanced system of having my boobies checked for abnormalities. I was even able to view the photos right away...yes, I always ask to see what is going on. I do take interest in science of it all. And besides, that way I can get back with Bud and remind him the photos tell me what he knew all along...that I got pretty boobs. [kidding...but it IS a family joke]. I like it that the images are there within minutes of the exam, and I like the fact that I can see 'em before the specialist does. Tho, I am not an expert, I think I could spot any large abnormalities right away. Trust me, the images are MUCH sharper than the old x-ray film!!! I can see it now that this new modern digital mammography is much more efficient and can probably detect anything....anything, earlier than the old way. BUT!! And this is a big but....they still MASH. If only....

  3. Beautiful blog; I love the blue poinsettia theme. Also I am so making that candy. Where in coastal TX do you live? We've stayed in Fulton and Port Arnasas quite a few winters or parts of winters; love it there.

  4. Ha, ha.
    I just have to ask where I would fit on your chart. After I had my 3 kids I dried up to smaller than an A. So what letter should I be in? Perhaps an N for Nothing?
    Loved this post! I have to admit that I have never been in for a mammogram, but at this point I don't think they could even squish my boobs into one of those things. They'd miss every time.
    Thanks for coming to visit me the other day.

I just loveeeee your new profile picture, just gorgeous!! I'm behind with 5 or 6 of your posts so I'd better start reading:) xoxo

    I so enjoyed your answers to the Christmas questions. I had to smile when you mentioned that your favourite cookies were the Mexican Wedding Cakes because those have always been my mom's favourite as well:) xoxo

  7. Anni, your home is so beautifully decorated and I have a feeling when Santa gets to your house on Christmas Eve, he won't want to leave! hehe It must truly be a magical feeling when you enter your home. Of course my favourites are the Santa Faeries:)

    It's funny, I had an artificial tree for 32 years and now the last 2 years I've had a real tree and I just love it. The smell when you walk in the room makes it all worth while:) xoxo

  8. Well, the old way, sometimes you had to do it over because of the film not looking right when they checked it.This way once is enough.
    Good for you, getting it done. The family history has to start someplace so best to be sure.

  10. I always put off that Personal Mashing Exam as long as I can. Every few years is plenty according to me. But it's nice to get a clean bill of health! By the way, what would AA stand for? Just wondering.

  11. Hello sweet Anni...
    I tell you sweetie, I am right there with you. When that old saying came around about your "Tit in a ringer", they weren't kidding were they. And you know I always wondered what that meant, that is until I had my first mammogram. I now know what it means.

    Please pop over and say hi. I would love to share my post today. You may find it interesting reading.

    Love ya sweetie...Country hugs..Sherry
