“A wise old owl lived in an oak;
The more he saw the less he spoke;
The less he spoke the more he heard...
Why can't we all be like that bird?”

Autumn is a favorite of my seasons [Spring is 2nd best]!! I love the fragrances such as apples, cinnamon, leaves burning, leaves falling and changing to their last hurrah, fireplaces, the colors of Fall, baking, you name it...Autumn is good! This week, I began bringing out my decorations for the season. I started with my usual...a centerpiece for the dining room table. Even tho it's just the two of us at home these days, I never ceased changing decorations for the different seasons. I like the change, and I like seeing what I can come up with that's a difference each year working with the same items I've collected over the years....

This is how it all began....
...decorations and what-not strewn all over the dining room flooring---

This is how it turned out. Maple Leaves galore, Autumn Print Napkin for table runner, Scarecrows, Glass Pitcher [the close up of the scarecrow faces show 'dots'...that is part of the hand blown glass *natural bubbles*], acorns, pumpkins, doilies and thin taper candles in glass bottle maple leaves.

FLASH 55
With his touch, one small caress inflamed the fervor and frenzy within my every cell as he whispered secrets in my ear. His whiskered face encircling my neck sent me into a shivering frenzy. Each nerve was enlightened and tingling! The warmness he breathed, awakened me fully; aware of his closeness! He purred; I petted!!

To enlighten my viewers and readers reading my 55 today, I'm awakened by the soft, loving, bewhiskered.............

SIR WINSTON
each morning
wanting fed!
HIS WHISPERS
are
PURR-R-R-FECT!!

'Fess up, I had you going for a little
while, didn't I?

  4. I love the ornaments included in your arrangement. It makes it interesting and out of the ordinary. Very pretty colors. I love autumn also. I just wish that winter didn't follow so quickly especially here in Northern Illinois.

  5. You did indeed have me going, Nora or Danielle! Too clever.

    Love the decorations. It's my sister's birthday and mine's in two weeks, so we normally give each other something fallish for our houses. I woke up this morning (well, couldn't sleep) thinking it's time to get out my stuff - I don't have lots and lots, but I LOVE fall, too!

  6. Here the air is fresh in the morning and at night, but during the day it's still very hot and sunny! So autumn seems to be a very far away dream.....
    Thanks for sharing your decorations.

  13. Lovely decorations, although I hate automn and winter and would rather retire like a bear during that time, lol ! But I love to decorate too so that's a little consolation.
