To this day, I miss having you with me at my side.
I remember all we shared. Secrets, girl talk, giggling at something only we two knew. I remember sharing fun times any time of day or night. We were always the best of friends. I don't ever remember a time I failed to be in awe of your stamina, your abundance of guidance for me on how to live a good life and love my betrothed, no matter what, your wealth of knowledge of what is good in the world.

Tho, now you're gone, you'll forever be...
You were my strength.
You were my peer.
You were my counselor.
You continually opened my heart...
with your golden, untarnished key!
You were my friend.
You were my mom....
I thank my lucky stars God picked you for me!!!!

~with love, Anni

  8. Dear Anni ~~ Great post- I do love the things My Mother Taught Me and I loved the tribute to your dear Mother
I also saw a great resemblance to her
in your photo. Thank you so much for your comments about my fall. It was inside and quite a gentle trip, it was the getting up that was very hard and hurt a lot. I am OK now.
Take care my friend. Love, Merle.

  14. There you made me laugh and I am still laughing ! I think in this generation all mothers at least in the western world must have said the same things ! They didn't worry that you could have an accident but worried over dirty underwear, and yes, you are just like your father, that I heard at least once a week, hahaha !

  18. Anni,

I absolutely LOVE the tribute to your mother. What a wonderful photo. I'm sure you miss her. Sounds like she was much like my Dad, who taught me many of the things your mother taught me. LOL And then I taught them to Michelle and now to the grandsons. One of my favorite sayings to Michelle when she was young was, "I brought you into this world and I can take you out."

Have a wonderful Mother's Day, my friend.

    Blessings,
    Mary

  27. On many of the blogs I read there is much blaming and whining about
    mothers.
How refreshing to read your beautiful tribute. I'm all screwed up, but it is NOT my mother's fault (LOL).

  29. I loved this. The first part reminds me so much of my mom esp. her saying wait till you have kids but then I would think WOW she must have been really bad to have me LOL Poor Mom I tested her patience! The second was a wonderful tribute and a testament to how wonderful your mom was> Kudos to her for raising such a fine daughter. Here's wishing you a very Happy Mother's Day and thank you for stopping by my little place in the blog world. =) FYI: I really do love that Erma quote, that is what I strive for every single day!
