"Getting There"

Make a post describing how you could 'get from one place to another' as your theme/prompt.

Well, I had worked on this post for a while and nearly had it set up for the pre-scheduled posting, yesterday, and we lost power for some reason. There is still a lot of construction going on down the road from our house with new homes being built, so I'm thinking that maybe there was something there that had the power cut off. Who knows....but either case, I didn't get a chance to get back online to continue visiting other blogging buddies 'til now. With my posting this, I hopefully will get back to your blogs and catch up on what I missed and my visitors from yesterday too.

First Step:
Open Paint Shop Pro & begin---

to get from here...

Last Step:
Click File & save---

...and Getting There!

I made a gift for all who visit today...
This is the time of year all become Irish...
Sending along my blessing and cheer...
And to you, I just want to say....
Kiss Me....I'm Irish today and all thru the year!!!

From this point in time...

To there...

Last month, a friend of mine had a birthday. I crocheted her a winter scarf with the same pattern I used in my blog giveaway. As you can see in the first photo, yes, I do multi-tasking to a 'different degree'....I crochet WHILE I'm blogging! LOL After finishing it, I then shipped it to her. It arrived two days before her birthday, and she told me she loves it!!!

  4. Actually me Granddaddy was Irish, Martin O Connell. So thank you for the badge.

Yes power-outs are a great nuisance, we don't get too many these days with the improvements that have been made, only a lightening storm maybe sets one off.
Sorry you had to suffer one and always, as usual at the most inconvenient time.
Happy St Patrick's Day to you Anni

  8. What a beautiful scarf - I love the color. Thanks for stopping by - glad your power came back on.

I saw Karen's comment and had been wondering about her - glad she's back, though she's been through a lot!

Have a great Tuesday! It is 56 degrees this morning at 6:30 - unbelievable! We'll enjoy it while it lasts, but hope and pray for some moisture soon. It'll probably happen spring break in the form of a blizzard! Hope it doesn't mess up my trip to KCMO to visit a friend - my sis and I are taking off on the 14th for the week-end.

  14. Cute graphic and a beautiful scarf. Power outages suck! We have less of them in the outskirts than we did when we lived in the city proper (daily brow-outs from air conditioning overload).

  18. Hi Anni,

I am finally caught up with my work and met my deadlines, so now I have time to visit blogs again.

First of all, I love your new header! It is just darling!!! And secondly, thank you for the St. Paddy's gift! I am going to love seeing it on my sidebar!!! You come up with the cutest things like that!!!

And that scarf you made is beautiful!!! I'm sure your friend loved it!!! And it is one of my favorite colors....almost the color of the window wall in my kitchen and will soon be the color of all the kitchen walls once I get the wallpaper all removed! Mine has a tiny little tint of teal color in it, though. I can knit, but I never could master crocheting...getting the tension just right on the yarn was my problem.

Stop by and check out the snow we got here Sunday night...it was a major storm for us, as they just aren't equipped to deal with that much snow here.

    Have a great week, Anni!

  22. Dear Anni

What an adoable gift you have maid for bloggers- only shame I don't blog :-(

The beautiful scarf is just the finest thing you have done- in my eyes,- and it sure make the lucky person warm, I am sure you will have a picture of her wearing it pretty soon

Here is an Irish- Scottich greeting for you=

    The Irish...
Be they kings, or poets, or farmers,
They're a people of great worth,
They keep company with the angels,
And bring a bit of heaven here to earth,

Here's Céad Míle Fáilte to friend and to rover
That's a greeting that's Irish as Irish can be
    It means you are welcome
    A thousand times over
Wherever you come from, Whosoever you be.

PS-The phrase Céad Míle Fáilte means "One hundred thousand welcomes" in English.

  23. To amswer your question about the crepe myrtles....Yes, they always have come back okay. The bigger ones in the common areas have been there from the beginning when they started building out here, and we've had snow and freezing rain other times in the past 8.5 years that I have lived here. So I would say they are pretty tough little trees. You're further south, so yours should be okay. These were already starting to show buds on them...but they'll snap back.
