"Getting There"

Make a post describing how you could 'get from one place to another' as your theme/prompt.

Well, I had worked on this post for a while and nearly had it set up for the pre-scheduled posting, yesterday, and we lost power for some reason. There is still a lot of construction going on down the road from our house with new homes being built, so I'm thinking that maybe there was something there that had the power cut off. Who knows....but either case, I didn't get a chance to get back online to continue visiting other blogging buddies 'til now. With my posting this, I hopefully will get back to your blogs and catch up on what I missed and my visitors from yesterday too.

First Step:
Open Paint Shop Pro & begin---

to get from here...

Last Step:
Click File & save---

...and Getting There!

I made a gift for all who visit today...
This is the time of year all become Irish...
Sending along my blessing and cheer...
And to you, I just want to say....
Kiss Me....I'm Irish today and all thru the year!!!

From this point in time...

To there...

Last month, a friend of mine had a birthday. I crocheted her a winter scarf with the same pattern I used in my blog giveaway. As you can see in the first photo, yes, I do multi-tasking to a 'different degree'....I crochet WHILE I'm blogging! LOL After finishing it, I then shipped it to her. It arrived two days before her birthday, and she told me she loves it!!!

  1. Good MOrnin' Anni,
Don't you just hate it when the power goes out andf you on'ty know why? I know I do. I remembe when I fist got married and moved here, jsut about everytime the wins blowed the poewer would go out nand make me so mad. LOL. It is really upsettin in the summer when it goes out and you don't have the A/C to use. Bouy am I spoiled to the A/C. "THANK YOU" for the gift. It is beautiful and I will gladly display it on my blog. I am taking Mary's adfvice and going to try and post as much as I can and use tht as a form of therapy as well. Jut overlook all the typos. Take care my friend and have a great day. May GOD Bless you qnd yours.

  2. Karen Don't worry about how things are typed OR any typos...I can understand what you're putting here. You just keep working on getting better from your stroke!!!! That's the important thing right now.

  3. I'm glad your power came back on.. and I love the new St. Patrick's Day look. Do you have tons of decorations? I bet you do. :)

    Thanks for the badge!

  4. Actually me Granddaddy was Irish, Martin O Connell. So thank you for the badge.

Yes power-outs are a great nuisance, we don't get too many these days with the improvements that have been made, only a lightening storm maybe sets one off.
Sorry you had to suffer one and always, as usual at the most inconvenient time.
Happy St Patrick's Day to you Anni
    Love Granny

  5. Love the scarf you made. Beautiful color as well. I don't know how you do it while blogging at the same time. Can you crochet with your toes??? lol. Just a little humor, Anni.

I saw Karen's comment and had been wondering about her - glad she's back, though she's been through a lot!

Have a great Tuesday! It is 56 degrees this morning at 6:30 - unbelievable! We'll enjoy it while it lasts, but hope and pray for some moisture soon. It'll probably happen spring break in the form of a blizzard! Hope it doesn't mess up my trip to KCMO to visit a friend - my sis and I are taking off on the 14th for the week-end.

  9. Your scarf is the color too!

I am catching up...loved the post about your Mom! The things we remember....LOL

  12. Liked how you handled this post; and from no power to this - you got there :-)

  13. What a beautiful scarf! I love your St. Pat's day surprise for us. Thanks so much.

  14. Cute graphic and a beautiful scarf. Power outages suck! We have less of them in the outskirts than we did when we lived in the city proper (daily brow-outs from air conditioning overload).

  15. Top of the morning to you my friend, may the wind be at your back, the road rise to meet you and the sun be on your face!-an Irish Blessing.

  16. Anni,

I absolutely LOVE your St. Patrick's Day gift. You have such talent.

The scarf is beautiful. I'm sure your friend is cozy and warm when wearing it. The color is perfect.

Hope you have a wonderful day.

  17. Always fun to check out what you're doing! The scarf is beautiful in color and style! Nice post.

  18. Hi Anni,

I am finally caught up with my work and met my deadlines, so now I have time to visit blogs again.

First of all, I love your new header! It is just darling!!! And secondly, thank you for the St. Paddy's gift! I am going to love seeing it on my sidebar!!! You come up with the cutest things like that!!!

And that scarf you made is beautiful!!! I'm sure your friend loved it!!! And it is one of my favorite colors....almost the color of the window wall in my kitchen and will soon be the color of all the kitchen walls once I get the wallpaper all removed! Mine has a tiny little tint of teal color in it, though. I can knit, but I never could master crocheting...getting the tension just right on the yarn was my problem.

Stop by and check out the snow we got here Sunday was a major storm for us, as they just aren't equipped to deal with that much snow here.

    Have a great week, Anni!

  22. Dear Anni

What an adoable gift you have maid for bloggers- only shame I don't blog :-(

The beautiful scarf is just the finest thing you have done- in my eyes,- and it sure make the lucky person warm, I am sure you will have a picture of her wearing it pretty soon

Here is an Irish- Scottich greeting for you=

    The Irish...
Be they kings, or poets, or farmers,
They're a people of great worth,
They keep company with the angels,
And bring a bit of heaven here to earth,

Here's Céad Míle Fáilte to friend and to rover
That's a greeting that's Irish as Irish can be
    It means you are welcome
    A thousand times over
Wherever you come from, Whosoever you be.

PS-The phrase Céad Míle Fáilte means "One hundred thousand welcomes" in English.

  23. To amswer your question about the crepe myrtles....Yes, they always have come back okay. The bigger ones in the common areas have been there from the beginning when they started building out here, and we've had snow and freezing rain other times in the past 8.5 years that I have lived here. So I would say they are pretty tough little trees. You're further south, so yours should be okay. These were already starting to show buds on them...but they'll snap back.

  24. Hi Anni,

'Couldn't wait had to add my applause re. the great scarf -- although the "before" picture looked so comfy and inviting -- I want to just crawl up inside!

And thanks for inviting us to share your great St. Paddy's Day graphic ... t'will be my first St. Paddy's Day (early) birthday gift!

  25. Awwww I just love the St. Patrick's Day button you made for all of us, thank you so much dear friend!! I've been wanting to make one as well to give out but just haven't had the time lately, hopefully when I get back from being out of town this coming weekend, I'll find the time to make one.

Oh my gosh, I just love the colour of that scarf you made for your friend, it's beautiful!! Love the pattern as well. You are so talented!!! xoxo
