This photo was taken last year right after I finished crocheting it. I took an image off the internet and opened it in my paint program, enlarged it 500% to make it more a pixeled image and then printed it all out, taped it together to form a grid pattern and then crocheted it accordingly. I added fringe of all the colors of yarn used throughout. Then, this year, when I brought it out of storage it turned from an afghan into a; yep you guessed it:

CATGHAN!!!

As soon as I shook it out to 'fluff it up some', Tahoe [the black cat] jumped up even before it was fully laid out, then being the gentleman that Winston is [the white silver tipped Persian], waited for me to leave and soon joined Tahoe. At least in this photo they're butt to butt....they have, since I photographed them, been butt to face. How gross is that?!! Kids!!! I tellya, you can't just love 'em you adore them. And Tahoe? Nah, she fell asleep almost immediately, but dear Winnie, he spruced himself up some before getting comfy. If you'dda been there, it was like two Mack Trucks with their purring.

I have learned to knit about 2 times but it has never taken...I can never remember what to do if I stop doing it for more than 2 days! Your cats seem to think Santa brought it for them! Love your cute blog! It is very nicely decorated for the season!

  25. I LOVE your blog design. Your "kids" are so lucky to have a comfy catghan to lounge around on.

My husband and daughter always have a blast out in the snow. He is deployed right now but will be home next week for R&R so hopefully they will have some more wintery wonderland memories this year.

  26. Anni,

The afghan is lovely and yes, the cats would love it. Tahoe's hair won't show so much as Winston's. I don't blame them for wanting to lie there and snooze - such a comfortable, cozy place.

Speaking of pets. Hubby and I were both busy today and all of a sudden I realized Meeko was no where in sight. Well, I found him on our bed. He had used his paws to make the comforter into a ball and their he lay, ears down and this forlorn, guilty look on his face. lol

What a talented lady you are. Taking that pattern off the internet and enlarging it and taping it together took some skill. Everywhere I look your talent shines through.

Take care and enjoy your day.
    Blessings,
    Mary

  34. Your talent is impressive! Our cats this time of year like to snuggle up even more than normal...My cat Athena will lay down on wrapping paper, when I'm trying to wrap gifts. Char {my husband's cat} will lay down on our feet. That I don't mind so much, it's like my own fuzzy heated pair of slippers ;)

Thanks for stopping by my blog! Have a wonderful day!

  42. What's an afghan without a little (or a lot!) cat hair on it? ;o)

It's been a long time since I did any crocheting from a graph but I have done it, including filet crochet.

Good job on your Santa afghan, and I hope your kitties enjoy it until time to put it away till next Christmas. :o)

    Much love,

    Diane
