Today's theme for the weekend at Photo Hunt is "FAMILY"

I went one further, I added another word to it --

This book represents over 100 years of our family! Inside the pages are writings of ancestors' names and dates from Ireland and then, America. [Inside the cover, the 'gift' date is 1909 with a small photo of our grandson...we prayed on this bible at the hospital during his open heart surgery at the age of 5 months] Our son will inherit this when we leave the world, as he carries on the name [I still have hopes!]..........

  17. Anni,

I absolutely LOVE your family Bible. I have started one of my own. I don't know where Grandma's ever got to. I started mine many years ago. I really should get it updated since we've had additions to the family and their names need to be added.

Wonderful show and tell, my friend. Have a great weekend.

  22. What a wonderful heirloom! It looks beautifully well-used - not just a keepsake to collect dust on a shelf... I love your take on the theme, today.

Stop by if you get the chance - I took a different direction altogether!

  23. What a WONDERFUL way to interpret today's theme! I have my grandfather's Bible that dates back to the late 1800s - shoulda shoulda shoulda

I have something for you on my blog. Not sure if you can get it, I not as great as you are on graphics. If I was I just might ask your permisson to post your write up on A LADY'S HOPE

  26. What a precious heirloom! I have my Grandmother's Bible. Her house burned in Feb. of 1998. She did not survive the fire. But, the Bible was in her living room on a stand, and while everything else in that room was destroyed, it was not. It didn't even smell of smoke.

  30. How wonderful to have that record of your family and in that beautiful old Bible. I remember when I married my first husband, his grandparents had a Bible where all the important occasions in the family were written. So my name was added (and probably crossed out now), along with our daughter's name when she was born.

  31. Anni,

I tagged you for a meme on Saturday's post.
