~...end Wordless Wednesday [ comment here if you'd like to skip the next Halloween issue...yep, it's October!!!] <><><> Last year, I started a tradition of handing out "treats" and not tricks for my commentors. I will again do the same. If you leave comments for me for anytime during the week, I will choose three to five of those that leave a sweet treat for me in the comments! [the sweet treat being kind words!] But to be fair to all the others, just don't grab this for yourself...it's not something for everyone...you have to be picked as you come knocking on my door blog comment link...and actually LEAVE a comment. I then will pick the recipients. And don't feel cheated, I am going to hand them out daily up until Halloween!!! You have all month to be chosen. So, check back often, you're name may show up here! To begin my traditional fun, as I love Halloween, the first recipients will be: storyteller Jen Kelli

Join Here Heads or Tails category this week: "SHAKE" Well, there are two things that came to my mind when I read the theme for this week. A memory of my childhood. Well, actually BOTH of the items I thought of came from my youth. When I was a youngster of 5 or 6, each Saturday after my dad got home from work, I, my brother, my sister and my mother were are cleaned up nice for a night out for dinner. It wasn't anything fancy, no sit down type restaurant; those kind were unaffordable by my parents' one worker income! But,none the less, we were happy to be able to go out to eat. It was in Lincoln, Nebraska, right down town on the main street. That was "O" street. It still IS considered main street, tho it's now part of 'old town' Lincoln. The place was a drive-up type where you sit in the car and eat, or order and take it home. We were all gussied up to sit in the car! LOL Still, I remember the fun time had by us all. The drive up

Cassie is hosting this week. And it's "messy closets"......... I want to see the inside of your closet!! I want to see if your closet is as messy as mine!!! You can't organize it before you take the picture!! Well, as you can see by the four photos below, I really don't care just HOW messy a closet gets. I'm retired, and I only clean them out and straighten things up in there when I no longer can walk in it. That's why closet doors were invented! To close, and not see the mess! You know, out of sight, out of mind! Years ago, I cleaned and straightened things out weekly. Nope, not any more....living a life is much more important. Besides, if I spent my days cleaning and organizing, I would find no time to blog and visit blogs. ~...end Fun Monday [ comment here if you'd like to skip my Memes below] Mommy Wizdom hosts next week. <♥><♥><♥> Okay! Ummmmmmm, it's now time to get down, and get dirty nasty get my

My Sunday Memes below this 'memorial' -- In Memory of my favorite actor, Paul Newman. Died of cancer, Friday, at his home. Age 83. With his strong, classically handsome face and piercing blue eyes, Newman was a heartthrob just as likely to play against his looks, becoming a favorite with critics for his convincing portrayals of rebels, tough guys and losers. "I was always a character actor," he once said. "I just looked like Little Red Riding Hood." Newman had a soft spot for underdogs in real life, giving tens of millions to charities through his food company and setting up camps for severely ill children. Passionately opposed to the Vietnam War, and in favor of civil rights, he was so famously liberal that he ended up on President Nixon's "enemies list," one of the actor's proudest achievements, he liked to say. The Rest of the Story Photo of which I have a framed print: "Butch Cassidy & The Sundance Kid" -1969 He too

Join Here CATEGORY: "VIEW" [Hmmm, I have set the 'scheduled post' for 27th at 12:01AM but it's posting NOW!] So, there I was with little to do for the day. All my 'work' was caught up from my 'to do list', and I got bored. I've been working on some projects [crafts] for Halloween ---since I don't have enough [insert snort here --or maybe a witch's cackle!] stuff for decorating in October.... I thought I'd begin taking down the Autumn leaves and scarecrows to get the house ready to unload the tons of boxes of witches, skulls, spiders, webs and such for next week sometime. Of course, October begins on Wednesday [or is it Thursday?]. And for the last four decades I've been decorating for Halloween on the first day. It all stays up around the house and outdoors up until November 1st when I bring out the 'turkey day' decorations and bring back the Autumn things again..... Where was I? Oh ya...the cate

Join Here A couple of weeks ago, we, as y'all know who follow my blog, took everything that would have been blown away if the hurricane would come our way as once predicted....for safe keeping in our garage. This windchime made of bamboo and coconut shell was one of them. Then, after hurricane Ike's wrath and the evacuation notice was lifted from our area, Bud and I began taking things back outside and replacing them from where they came in the yard. Well, this particular chime was hung on the garden implements hanger [shovels, rakes, edgers...that hanger]. And it was forgotten. The garage is our 'smoking area' as we don't smoke in the house. While out there several times we noticed wasps. And the dampness of the season, we just assumed they were coming in from the garage door when it's opened and getting trapped. But, after a while it dawned on me that perhaps there was a wasp nest in there...and searching high and low, I couldn't find one. Ye

...~end Wordless [ comment HERE if you'd like to skip 2nd section of my Wednesday Blog] <><><> There are times I could just eat my words. I have said a few times that I really like Windows Vista. Well, yesterday I was ready to 'hang Mr. Gates'!! Y'all know I love to work with graphics and graphic design. I was hooked on it since the beginning when a friend of mine gave me a software program. Of course I still continue to learn more things as I go through the days, but when I lost my computer last year, and I got the new Windows Vista, I never ever thought of downloading and installing new fonts to my font file. After several months now of doing my own blog header and template background, I decided the other day "I'm getting tired, bored, with my font files. I need some new stuff." Out on the 'net I go in search of what's new and perhaps find some of my old favorites that was on the old computer. Trust me when

Join Here The category for us this fine Tuesday for Heads or Tails is: How would you change where you live? I LOVE my home! I love the fact that there is a cathedral ceiling in the living room, that there is a high ceiling in the master bedroom and a walk in closet just off the room and a 'three-room' bathroom all rolled into one. I love the sunken living room [tho it floods easily], I love to have to step up into the dining room, I love the angled kitchen...I'm happy to have a home!!! Maybe one thing I would change is to add a sky light in the kitchen, but that isn't something I NEED...just want. So, with my great satisfaction with the home I live in, I'm going to talk about a change in the city!! Hmmmm, for the most part, I don't think much needs to be 'changed' for locale of course. The seasons are great [yes, we DO have Autumn and we do have Winter and Spring along with Summer ---they're just short seasons---leaves do turn col

Heather at Heather's Recipes is hosting our Fun Monday this week. She asks us to tell her about a sport, or a team we continually follow - AND [I'll probably get lynched on this] to also add a little bit about what team you love to hate! First off, I love baseball . I love to watch it, I love to play it [tho I haven't in years since we retired 'cause our family outings with everyone else in the family came to a screeching halt when we moved out of Colorado and the big family get togethers]. I have three professional teams that I follow. Two of those teams I was privileged to see from their inaugural seasons. One of those teams we went to every home game up until we retired and left Colorado. We even followed them to Tucson Arizona for Spring Training games. Then, when we actually retired and relocated to Tucson, we went to several of the Spring Training games...I especially loved the St. Patrick's Day traditional Spring Training Game - the Cactus League

My favorite time to capture sunsets is after a hot blistering summer day when the sto

Join Here CATEGORY: "ROAD" This photo was taken on one of our trips, when we were either on our way up to the Grand Canyon or on our way to see the aspen trees change or somewhere [LOL]...we went too many times to recall just when and on what trip...I can't remember. But I do recall pulling off the 'road' to get a picture of this because Erik is a former Marine Corporal of USMC. And their mascot is a bull dog. The logo you see a lot is "Chesty" the bull dog...and along with this you see the term Devil Dog. The Marines are sometimes called the Devil Dogs. At the time I thought it was cool...... Devil Dog Road Arizona circa about 1998 or so - - - Chesty the Marine Bull Dog <><><> And an update on Erik and Houston. Erik just got back to Houston yesterday afternoon, and his auto and house are okay... YAY!! I was worried to a frazzle that his house was broken into and stuff stolen. He said it stinks like nothing he'
