Got a good reason For taking the easy way out

As some of my visitors requested - Y'all wanted to see my painting framed. Well, here it is. Bud found an already made, free frame [by that I mean no backing or glass yet] at a frame shop the other day that was just like we had in mind for framing my watercolor pelican I finished a couple of weeks ago. And since barnwood [which we had in mind] is scarce in our town and expensive to get, this was cheaper in the long run to purchase the already made frame and buy the glass for it. I got it all put together, and I'm waiting for Bud to get the frame wire and hooks on the backside so I can hang it. I thought, while I'm waiting for Mr. Pokie to get his duff in gear and move ---I'll snap a picture of it to show y'all the finished painting. I've titled it "Afternoon Repose".

And I started sketching another one. This time it's Japanese --I don't know whether it'll be any good tho, as I have trouble doing hands. My hands always turn out looking deformed. LOL And this sketch I started is a Japanese Samurai. I've already started over twice since my shoulders and arms were out of proportion to his head. -- If this doesn't work after a few more attempts I'll go back to painting 'nature' ROFL

But, I'm happy to say my pelican is done. Hopefully it'll be hanging by the end of the day. If Bud'll get to it! "Oh Bu-u-ud? Where are you?"

  18. Hi Annie -- the painting looks great! I am glad you are so satisfied with it!

That shark jaw is something else. My husband was intrigued by it (rather than me -- LOL). Anyways, hope you can stop by my waterfall -- no shark zone there.

  22. Anni,

I just love the barn board frame on your pelican painting. It really sets it off. You chose wisely. I ties it all in.

You got a lovely shot of the water. The lake was very still when I took the photo for my poem. Wish it had been moving a bit more and thanks for the comment you made today.

Enjoyed visiting with you, as always. Have a wonderful day and try to get in a bit of relaxation time.

    Blessings,
    Mary

  25. Hey H'A', Happy WW! From Texas too!

Your pelican is wonderful, I haven't followed you enough to see if you are an 'old hand' artist who has trouble with 'hands' or a learner!
My profile picture is my original creation when I was in the 2nd or 3rd grade, I still draw like this, guess maybe I'm a slow learner. The original had a horse, I haven't put that horse on the blog yet. I might can not draw horses anymore?

I should have invited you to the shrimp boil. Would really have come?
We had a couple of inches of rain yesterday, things have been really dry around Houston.
