Got a good reason For taking the easy way out

Another Sunday on the calendar...yessirree bob!! Time for my Sunday Snippets. This is the day I get to post 'fun' little things I find and read. Something that is a "feel good" article instead of the usual 'horrific' things I read about or hear on the news. Always something to make me smile and inwardly know then that not all the world is bad---------

This photo recently caught my eye. It was published in our newspaper about two weeks ago, and I finally got to scanning it for a Snippet Photo [there are actually two steers -one on each side, but I 'snipped' my snippet down to appropriate size for my blog]....

Under the photo it reads:
"Grazing a Good Book- Raider [the name for the steer of course] hangs out with Mark Twain [a statue in the park] on Monday at Trinity Park in Fort Worth. Stock Show participants parked their trailers at the park during load in at the show barns......" [courtesy of Caller Times©]

I loved it the moment I saw it in the paper ---MOOOOOOVE Over Mr. Twain!!! And as much as I've read Mark Twain's works and have listened to [On PBS] and read his speeches in books and magazines, I'm just wondering what his comment would be if he saw this newspaper clipping today. What, exactly, would he have said?

And, the most astounding article is from ABC News on American News --Friday. Each week, this news program at 5:30 PM our time zone, has a segment on the Person of the Week...I try not to miss this if I'm home. They're always so inspirational!!!! This past Friday, the person of the week was Stephen Wiltshire. An artist. His work is phenomenal!!! All from a photographic memory, he draws with outstanding accuracy! The Queen, in England, has honored him with making him part of the Order of the British Empire! It's just one amazing story....and one very influential guy this Stephen Wiltshire is!!!! He's unforgettable!!! He is Autistic!!!!

This comic represents the two below. It's very -dare I type this?- fitting for a snippet, don't you think?

First -

FACT:

There is more money being spent on breast implants and Viagra today than on Alzheimer's research. This means that by 2040, there should be a large elderly population with perky boobs and huge erections and absolutely no recollection of what to do with them.

<><><>

Secondly-

A man in our community had three women he had to choose from to become his mate; to marry one. He decides to give each lady $5000.00 and from what they buy with the money, he'll then know how the women handle money and convince him which one to chose, and will be worthy of his spouse-hood. The first woman has a complete makeover, telling him when she's 'done' that she wanted to be more beautiful for him! The second woman buys him gifts, expensive gifts "because she loves him and wanted him to have nice things". The third woman invested her five grand, and reaped many more times the initial amount. She even returned his gift of $5000.00 from her most wise decision. He was very impressed, and eventually he made up his mind and married one of the three......

The one with the biggest breasts!!! Men are like that!!!

Sharon @ Rose of Sharon sent me this wonderful gift yesterday! I love it. And 'wear' it proudly here on my blog...Thank you so much dear lady.

  1. Good Morning Anni,
I so love your Sunday Snippets. The statue of Mark Twain with the steer resting on his arm is just priceless. I wonder what Mark Twain would think if he was alive and saw this picture? Hmmmm, one never knows. That is so wonderful of that Stephen Wiltshire being such a great artist. And him being Autistic is really wonderful. Some people are really very talented. Okay, I am ROFLMBO here at the comic about the glass bra. LOL. Oh Lord help me, or should I say help you? LOL. Just too cute. Funny you should be talking about breast's. Before we went to bed last night me and my DH was watching Bill Engvall on Comedy Central. It was his latest as solo. Ohmygosh, he was talking about breat's as well. It was just hilarious. Any you are right, men are breast's beast's. LOL. I am blessed really good upstairs here and my DH just loves them. I told him if you had to tote then around 24/7 like I did, you would change your mind. LOL. I would so love to have a breast reduction, but DH says no that they are just fine. Uh huh, yeah right. LOL. "CONGRATULATION'S" on the very well deserved Award. You truly are a Treasured Friend to me. Take care my friend and have a great day. May God Bless You and Yours.

    Love & Hugs,
    Karen H.
P.S. The reason I gave my DH the other Flour Tortilla was because it was better on my without trying to use it. The chips were much better with it anyway. LOL.

  2. I love your Sunday Snippets and Mark Twain is one of my favorite history personalities....... I often wonder why he used a pen name and not his real name...........Samuel Langhorne Clemens ? I think Langhorne would have been a great pen name.......Oh well,,,,,,,,,,,,, As for the Tee contest I am leaving the voting open till Easter Sunday at 5:00 pm....... That gives us just more than a month.......... I am so busy in my business right now with large shirt orders that I do not have the time to design it anyway............ sooooooooooo take your time and think it through........... and then vote.......... let others know about the contest........... Should be fun................

  3. Anni,

The picture of the steer with Mark Twain is priceless. I'm so glad you posted it. It's nice to see something comical for a change instead of all the horrible things in the news.

As you know, my grandson has Asperger's Syndrome which is on the autism scale. The video of Stephen Wiltshire is awesome. It seems that autism turns the brain into a mini computer that makes remembering no problem. This man has photogenic memory, which is awesome in itself, but even more so for someone with autism. I love his art. I'm glad the Queen recognized his talents. He's very deserving of the Order of the British Empire and you can tell he's so proud of his talents. Thank you so much for honoring him as your person of the week.

The cartoon is comical and just like a man. LOL

Enjoyed your post, as always. I never know what I will find her.

Love and blessings, my friend. Have a relaxing day.
    Mary
