Sits on your newspaper in the morning and carefully reads the coded message that Garfield sends out every day. 2. Used to sleep on top of TV, now monitors CNN 24 hours a day. 3. When you enter the room, Snowball and the other members of the Tri-Cateral Commission stop talking and begin playing with yarn. 4. Now -- dead third world dictators in the basement. 9. Judging from the ki

~Wordless Wednesday ...~end Wordless A couple of days ago hubby and I had nothing better to do with our time since we finished the Spring Cleaning of the house interior so, we went to see a movie. Now to be honest, I felt all the movies that were at our theaters in town were not worth seeing. I was determined to just wait it out and get them cheap when they are at the Video rentals "previewed" 4- $20! But our son called and said he had gone to see the movie "Untraceable" over the weekend, and that it was really a twisted, spooky, computer thriller! Well, that piqued my interests. We went to see it. Granted, I don't think it's worth the 'big bucks' to see it. But it's one that you probably feel it's more or less 'important' to see for today's times and all the computer hacking and such! It's definitely a thriller. And from the first few minutes into the movie, you're captured. It never slows down. It at times is

Tuesday afternoon [4:30PM] : Mary directed me from a comment left here to this wonderful blessing . When I get caught up from missing out on so much visiting today, I'll get to passing this on to others. Mary, I thank you from the bottom of my heart. It has truly brightened my day. And at 5:18PM, I got a comment from Talk to Grams....she, presented me with this Young At Heart Award. Thank you dear one. I really appreciate it. And as I told you, sometimes I'm probably young at heart to where it's sinful. LOL & ~ HEAD OR TAILS ~ Today, January 29: TAILS - Who would you like to meet and why? Oh boy....you got me here. I would love to meet many. From a personal aspect there are two Danish ladies that I've known online and we have become friends through emails, mail, chats and message board groups goin' on about 10 years or more! They're both such super women. I would dearly love to meet them in person! And I feel very confident that some day a newfoun

Angela from over yonder at " The Lurchers " is our hostess with the mostest this week. She asks: " ...continuing in the spirit of "being interested in people", I would like to know, or see, what's on, in or under your bedside table! So open those draws and bare your soul to us! Is there anything special there that has a story or a memory that you can tell us about? Books that you keep there to delve into from time to time? Trinkets that you don't know where else to put? Let's see! " My bedside nightstand has nothing but books and a red ruby-glass vase. And no drawers. Under it is my large stuffed tiger [tigers are my favorite 'wild' animal] I moved the books around to show the titles of the three I'm currently reading.... [yep, I read more than one book - skipping days from one to the other] Sweeney Todd Rhett's People Poe and Fanny [Edgar Alan Poe and wife] Tigger will hosting next Monday! ~...end Fun Monday <><>

175 WORDS CHALLENGE [and character counter too!] I'm the fifth of five children born to my parents. Yes, I'm the youngest one of the bunch - going on 59. My birthday is February 9th. I am an Aquarius born. But, I must add that being the youngest of five, I was unmercifully teased about being "the baby of the family!" That's until I stayed awake one night when quite young, and transpired a gripping foolproof come-back to their picking on me. My come-back finally had a chance to shut them up once and for all. Hounding me one time about being just a 'baby' and not knowing what life was all about, I simply said: "Mom and Dad kept having kids 'til they finally go it right, and here I am!" That immediately shut their mouths tight and I never had to contend with their attitude that I knew nothing; ever again. Even to this day they're closed mouthed about me being the youngest!! Take that...you 'ancient' scoundrels. That's ca

About | Theme: OLD FASHIONED | Roll Next week "narrow" Several aspects of this photo can be considered old fashioned. First the frame. The oval shape, the rose impressions, antique silver-look [it's actually pewter]. Then, the woman's hair style. Of the 1920's. And the dress she's wearing. Along with the single strand of pearls. Also, the woman in the photo is my mother!!! As I grew up under her tutelage, as she continued from day one through to my marriage, teaching me the old fashioned values of womanhood and citizenry. Call me old fashioned saying this, but she was the best mother around!!!! This is of her 16th birthday. Circa 1927. I miss her terribly. This photo is sitting right here, next to me at my computer desk!! ♥ ♥My Mom♥ ♥ And: "I kinda like this hair style, I just may wear mine like this" After all, when I look at her, I know I look almost a spittin' image. ~...end Photo Hunt <><><> Dear Karen at Karen&#

~SHOW N TELL~ M y Show N Tell this week is a magazine. It's not just a magazine...there are two. Of the same subject but both covers are opposite one another. On purpose. The publishing date/info is LIFE magazine. December 1986...some twenty two years ago. I happened to buy one back then because I'm a huge Paul Newman fan. I've never been very awestruck with the little punky dude next to him for the cover photo...but, the movie was the new story of an old story. It was about " The Hustler " [c. 1960-61] which introduced me to Paul Newman in the 'young guy' character that Tom Cruise would play in the 'new movie'. Now the tables have turned and he's the old guy teaching the young soon-to-be pool shark. But, thing is, when I bought it...I was hungering for a good interview inside. As I turned the pages I noticed the editor's note inside the cover [2nd photo down]...it states: "Either Way, one of them had to wind up upside down&q

[image header designed by me for my blog] I 'M A RULE BREAKER. AND I CHALLENGED MYSELF WITH THE FORM FOR THIS WEEK, and construed it to fit my Thursday 13, only because I thought of a fashion rule that totally " blog gles" my mind, even today..... 1. Which rule did you choose to break? I continue to think the Southern [it's origin from what I gather] fashion 'law' of NOT wearing white after Labor Day [September] through the months until Easter [March or April] is a fashion rule that makes no sense!!! Never have...never will!! 2. Explain the events that led up to your breaking this rule. Simple...I like white! Pure, unbleached white. It's crisp, it's comfortable, it goes with ANYthing in the department of fashion!! Why not? I mean, just why can't the whole society [women in particular] wear white after September when men can wear white shirts year 'round and girls/women getting married in the 'dead of winter' are able to wear w

~WORDLESS WEDNESDAY~ ~...end Wordless~ <><><> I f you read my Monday's blog entry, you know that I was thoroughly disappointed in the Chargers and the Packers playoff performances. So perturbed that neither team I was rootin' for won! They played some poor football. And the announcers always said, pregame, during the game, and after the game --that the below zero temperatures is Green Bay's territory...that they are used to the frigid air. But I'm thinking...hey guys, wait just a minute. I'm not sure about that. No fool [except Green Bay fanatics] would be out in those temperatures for 3 to 4 hours and be all sane when it's over!!! I'm sure that the Packers, if they reside and play there during their season, most OTHER times when not performing their jobs, they're indoors by the heat just like any other cheesehead. So, the temps, as you can see didn't deter anyone but the home team!! Anyway, for us two, the football season

Join Here & ~ HEAD OR TAILS ~ Today, it's all about the senses --- - - - ~The Winter Season~ In WINTER I hear ... The crackle of dead leaves beneath my feet as I walk. The distant sound of birds singing. The faint sound of traffic on the freeway. The TV and football games. The splash of the cold ocean waters hitting against the jetty. The wind rustling through the hibernating trees. - - - ~The Spring Season~ In SPRING I see ... New grass peeking out of the browned winter kill. Flowers opening to beautiful blossoms. Trees budding and blooming. The Easter Bunny. New fashions in department store windows. Hatchlings searching for their mommas. - - - ~The Summer Season~ In SUMMER I touch ... The velvet petals of a rose. The handle of the lawn mower. The rich soil as I plant seedlings. The warm gulf water beneath my toes. The soft, shifting sands on the shore. The warm sun against by being. - - - ~The Autumn Season~ In AUTUMN I smell ... Pumpkin Pie spice. Turkey roasting. Leaves

Extra, Extra...Read the Headlines!! This is Fun Monday's 1st year anniversary. It all began with the question/request: "What is just outside your front door?" One year ago it began with Vicki. This year, you guessed it. Our hostess is the star...the one and only....Ms. Vicki !!! :::applause sign::: The laughter and ooooohs and awwwwwws can be heard from a distance as we enjoy her company as hostess, and entertain our online neighbors and blogland friends....from our front doorsteps!!! In honor of the celebration, we are to photograph from our front door, what we see.... Simple enough but with a twist--view from front yard looking toward the front door since we had our front yard view before: [ what I see now from the porch isn't pretty--dead grass & dormant shrubs and 'sleeping', bare, trees. Besides, I always seem to bend the rules a lot. So, why be different this time. LOL ] Courtesy of Headline Generator <><><> What happened t
