Info Page - Join This week's theme - WATER Since most of you who know me, know that I live just 5 minutes from the Gulf Shore Coast! And y'all expect that since the subject for this week's photo hunt theme is water, well---you expect something from the gulf shores? Showing off the beauty of the sandy beaches and the wave actions? Right? Sorry....not this time!!! Today, tho I was tempted to throw you really off kilter and show water coming from the water purifier at the kitchen faucet, I nixed that idea too. And went with this.... WATER DROPLETS -or, WATER BEADS Just after the sprinkler system shut off, I ran out and clicked away at my climbing rose. [I have it where it's growing up and entwined through a Texas sage bush. In the summer, there are purple flowers on the sage, and what a beautiful combination] ~Click on either to enlarge if you wish.

Here is my Friday Feast for the week. If you're looking for the Cruise for the day in which I am hostess...it's the following entry, after this feast!!! Happy Friday Appetizer What are you proud of? Many things. Mostly my life. I've done nothing extraordinary, but the happiness I've had ALL my life is worth more than I can tell you about here. Soup What is the best thing you’ve ever won as a prize? Well, I'm not the type to say my husband! That would mean I'm a bit egotistical and consider him a 'trophy'!! And he's not---he and I are extensions of one another, not prizes. So, I'd say: A trip to Disneyland. It was from a radio program. And early in the morning we always sat around with waking up from a night's sleep. And the two D J's always had questions where you call in to answer. The question was "Of all the NFL [professional football] players, what woman celebrity did the vast majority wish was their mother?" After att

[blowing ship's alert whistle---high pitched] "NOW HERE THIS, Now Hear This"---------- *NOTE TO LIFECRUISERS* **CAPTAIN/CREW/PASSENGERS** What'll it be ? Where will we go ? That's the big question!!! Ahhhhhhhhhhhh!!! Today is Thursday, March 29th. Two more days and then....... it's April Fool's Day. I fit into this day like peas in a pod. I am the biggest. In fact, I gave birth to my daughter on April Fool's Day. So see? I'm the biggest fool of all. [Or is she the fool? ---Well, to make a long story short ---we didn't have testing back nearly 40 years ago [I didn't give her true age away...I said nearly !!] to find out 'what sex a child is' ---and both my obstetricians said all along my firstborn was a boy---was I FOOLED!!! or what????] Speaking of daughter, she had a battle with the stairs the other day ---the stairs won---and she broke her knee!! Our youngest grandson is doing great...busy with school sports and such.

Before I start sewing the 2nd of two living room draperies, I wanted errrrr, um, more like begged my sweet cheeks to tear down the hurricane shutters on the outside porch side of the window, so I could scrub the windows! Reason I begged, was because, we've taken down the patio door hurricane shutter before, several times, and knew just how heavy they are, AND how awkward they are to dismount and rehang! In other words, a day's chore! And they are HEAVY with a capital "H"! Well, it turned out just that way---we started around 8:30 in the morning, and even tho Bud has the power tools to get a job done easily and quickly....these bolts, tiny as a kernel of corn and rusted into the window frames, are the PITS to get out, even when we saturated them with a 'special' oil to loosen rusted bolts!! They were stubborn and didn't want to budge an inch!! A big power struggle. And it was a fight to the finish, but we won, with a few bruises and knuckles knicked

WORDLESS WEDNESDAY

...and hat parade entry below this one! And sorry, I can't see me being wordless on the HAT parade!! So, bear with me. The explanation for the WORDLESS PHOTO WILL BE IN THE COMMENT SECTION --1st comment. 1st: Wordless <><><> 2nd: My special hat for the cyber cruise's hat parade Since it's close to another of my favorite, fun holidays, I chose a theme for the hat I made. And since I'm not a hat wearer, I figured with all you ladies that LOVE hats and wear them all the time, I'd be the one with egg on my face!! It's my easter egg hat! And yep, sure 'nuff -- I accomplished the thing I figured I would --egg on my face!!! And, yes --that is me under the egg hat. [click to enlarge for detail] Also note: As you can see by my last entry yesterday, I'm in the middle of making/sewing new brocade draperies for our living room. So, I may not be visiting too many people and leaving comments....I'll try and get around as much and as

Yesterday, since the painting in the living room was completed, Bud and I went shopping for material for new drapery. Before, the entertainment center was in front of the picture window. And the reason was, the cable company for the TV put the cable connection for us right from the exterior into the brick and by the window! Well, we both played lazy and just put the tv and wooden monstrosity there...in front of the window. For two years, I've been wanting to have someone figure out a way to get the cable moved to a different wall. And since I began the painting job for the living room----I made sure that was done, so I could have the picture window, off the front porch, open and let the sunshine in!! Finally! Well, a little over a week ago, I called the cable guy --- LOL --- and told them what I wanted. I asked them to come out and fish the cable up the exterior wall and into the attic and then drop it down the center wall of the house. Two days later, they came out and s

....and speaking of PRISON BREAK ? Did y'all watch it last night? I still hafta say this is the best drama series that has been put on television [2nd to House, M.D.] since the days of mini-series television. I remember back in my youth how I couldn't wait for Peyton Place night on the tube!! Well, this is just like that. I count the days for Mondays 7PM!! It's about the only time other than Tuesday evening that I really sit and watch TV. After Prison Break, I really enjoy the raunchiest comedy, Two and A Half Men. No, I don't stick around for "24" ---I don't care for that at all. He screams and yells too much, and besides I'm not much on Keifer! Never have been. But Prison Break last night. I actually cheered when Michael took the knife and used it on T-Bag!! T-Bag is the most loved-to-hate kinda guy that's come across television since I don't know when!! [But have to admit he looks mighty fine in his panama hat--oops, hormones he

For the past week or more, since we returned from our trip, I've been busy with painting three rooms and a hallway. It's gone from white walls [dirty, smoke filled walls I may add] to deep turquoise blue. The darker color of turquoise is called Private Lagoon. The dining room, kitchen and hallway are all covered with one color. [I did some before and after shots---sorry, I just don't have time today to put them into an automated slideshow] The living room, at first all white is now two-toned with a wooden divider around! The wooden divider is carved with oak leaves [you can't really see that], stained red mahogany. The bottom portion of the wall is again the Private Lagoon turquoise. The top is Caribbean Wave in name, a lighter turquoise. All the painting and putting up the wall divider is complete as of this weekend. Hardly any pictures are hung as of now. I'm having my hubby make some unfinished wooden frames for my own artwork to hang. But---her

Okay, the captain and I snuck out last night. We both just HAD to entertain our wondering just what the RCMP did after off duty. We found a couple of them at an all night strip club and snuck them aboard. Boy, am I tired!! But, today, we're venturing into some land that I am quite fond of and familiar with. I've been here in this area several times, and keep going back---Baltimore, Washington D.C. and Ocean City. Melli's side excursion is one of the most beautiful areas of the USA! Today, it's Chesapeake Beach. I can handle this! Whatcha got in store for us dear Melli?!!! Ahhhhhhhhhhh.....*relaxing and enjoying the ambiance!! The beach is super quiet. The best kind. Lots to see and may I say, I'm VERY grateful that you're not taking us over this -------- You know my bridge phobia? It's a bit chilly out here walking around so I thought I'd WEAR my crabby T-shirt if you don't mind!!! And extra layers of clothing'll never hurt. The sea br

Could you tell the captain to quit rocking the boat!! My seaworthy legs have gone up and left me!! *hiccup* I need to find the ladies room..... *In the meantime, Irish Church Lady is passing out used bubble gum*---- "Don't eat the yellow gum!!! Oh now, wait---that's yellow snow, huh? Okay *flipping my hand in approval* go ahead. Enjoy the gum." [Anni, enjoying her electrifying Manhattan!!] To catch up on today's cruising here, read this-- drinks for everyone aboard the cruise & Hootin' Anni buys

I've been following this story as much as I can lately, and can't figure out what the animal activists are thinking!! This polar bear cub has a 2nd chance at life, after the mother refused to tend to him!! The activists are stating that the zoo keepers in Berlin should have NOT interfered and bottle fed the sweet creature? What gives? In today's society, if a mother of the human species would not want their child and left it to die, the "human activists" step in and rescue the child, right? Why not a bear cub? It's in the zoo people!! It's not like he's out in the wild! Sure, he's going to be used to humans, a counterpart in so many words, but having a life in the zoo will NOT harm the cub as it grows to adult bear! Give the creature what he deserves. A life that perhaps one day will show us humans that there are polar bears. Being that the species is on the endangered list!!! read more...

Appetizer Who is your favorite news anchor/reporter? Why? Actually, I have none that I can mention. We have news on regularly, but I don't have a favorite. Now if you want my opinion, I feel the American media [and that is news included] is over dramatized. And I also feel that AMERICAN NEWS is not covered enough on the cable's national news. I'd much prefer reading the news. I get more from it. There is no dramatization like I witness on ABC of CBS or NBC or MSNBC or CNN. Leave the acting in the movie theaters, please. Soup Name 3 foods that are currently in your freezer. Ben and Jerry's ice cream. Whole chickens. A stock pile of Orange Juice [country style with heavy pulp]. Salad If you were to have the opportunity to name a new town or city, what would you call it? I'm sure if you look at a U S A Map, there probably is one already. Anniville? hehehehehe, what a hoot!!!! [I know Hooterville has been used already....perhaps HOOTIN'burg?] Main Course
