Here a Chick...There a Chick...NOPE...still incubating
I've been going out to an area near Pollywog Ponds in hopes of seeing some chicks. I know where there is a nest of four soon-to-be hatchlings. Altho, during the week there is a construction site nearby, that I find it's too difficult to park the car on the work days, so, I wait until Sunday when there is no activity going on. Well, this past weekend, I drove out to check the progress of the upcoming parenthood...still eggs...nothing in a form of any movement except for the mother and nearby father...
The Father....trying to distract me from a distance...playing injured!!
Then, the mama. Can you find her? [expand photo] Her nest is in the rocks....I have more photos shared on my bird photography blog...post will be published at noon today.. or in my sidebar or the menu on top near my header.
I also took a very short video:
Sorry, there is a glitch in this playback...I used Iframe coding, I see it on the computer, but not my smartphone. Odd. And, I will try to work on the issue to get a fix.
the video is amazing. don't laugh to long and loud, but when I read your first paragraph and saw polywog ponds, I left your post ad went out to my polywog rain barrel pond and took photos, because they have tiny legs now. I had forgotten I was waiting for sun rise. I took a phone video but then I watched your vid and mine is so crappy. yours is amazing. I can't find the bird in the pic because my sight is so bad. beautiful post and thanks for reminding me and thanks for your comments on Jake and myself today on my post.
Hello Anni, the Killdeers are so sweet. Neat sighting of the nest, it blend in well with the ground. Great video and photos. Thank you for linking up and sharing your post. Happy Saturday, enjoy your weekend! PS, thanks for the comment.
