“A wise old owl lived in an oak;
The more he saw the less he spoke;
The less he spoke the more he heard...
Why can't we all be like that bird?”

Inauguration Day

On January 20th, our country's leader was sworn in.

A New Dawn...

...A New Day

...Some may have ruffled feathers because of our POTUS

...While others are content and will go on living their lives as usual

...It's called Survival of the Fittest!!

...Late into the night, voices were still being heard. Why must they protest? Other than being arrested or harmed, the damages were a waste. Violence is something I just can't understand...we Americans who do this are nothing but 3rd world citizens in my opinion. Most Americans say they don't like to talk politics, but think about it...these are your 'neighbors'!!  Ummmm, open your eyes - this morning he's still our President whether you like the concept or not....

  1. Good morning Anni. Yes we have a new president and everyone needs to accept it and pray he turns the country around to the good.

  2. Hello, Anni! I always enjoy your birds. I love the egrets, heron and the crane. The riots are uncalled for, I believe people who do riot are not even the kind of people that vote.
    Thank you for linking up and sharing your post. Happy Saturday, Enjoy your weekend!

    1. Thanks Eileen...and yes, they're uncalled for in my opinion too. They destroy property and don't obey rules. That's not protesting that's just plain insipid.

  3. Beautiful birds!
    The best thing we can do is pray for God's mercy on our country and pray for President Trump
    Have a wonderful week-end!

  4. i would expect that anytime you get a hundred thousand people together, there will be some morons. I'm sure you are aware that the vast majority of people who are protesting love their country and the liberty they have to protest.

    1. But those that demolish and destroy other property not belonging to them, and don't abide by laws of the land are not protesting...they're becoming part of a world that knows no peace.

  7. Sadly, you are right. It's what people are afraid of, however, he's eliminated any White House references to Climate Change, LGBT issues...
    Those with pre-existing conditions most need the Affordable Care Act. It's so sad.

    1. I think we should give him and his cabinet a chance....just as any good American would do for Clinton had she been elected. Can't expect good overnight.

  9. Hello Anni!:) I love your beautiful new dawn picture, which is very appropriate for the start of a new presidency. Like billions of people all over the world, Americo and I tuned in to watch the Donald Trump's inauguration. We both think he will be a good president,... and that his policy to put America first is long over due for the American people. We were also saddened to see the senseless rioting.

    I'm not back blogging yet, as both hubby and I have not been well, and today is the first time in ages that I have sat at the computer, but many thanks for your good wishes at Christmas, and all the best for this year.

  10. Breaking and looting isn't protesting. To me it has nothing in common with petitioning your govt.
    It just got down below freezing.

  11. I love Lea's comment on your blog. For me as an European it sounds so strange that your new president is saying: America first. We are talking about that here. Is that the same as Deutschland über alles? Ok, enough. I love your post and photos.

  13. It all makes me mad that these people destroy and act out. It shows a complete l lack of control to be so violent and they have mob mentality. I shall wait and see and have very high hopes for better times without those awful few showing their ignorance and idiocy by using rampage. He is OUR President, like it or not. Welcome change.

  14. Wonderful pictures. I am not from the US,but I feel that since Mr.Trump is now the President,the citizens owe it to him to show respect and allow him to lead.No body is perfect and this new president won't be either.

    1. But striving to accept and move on is what a country needs to do. Not bicker and do damage....it just irks me.

  17. The rioting was certainly a show of the lack of maturity on some people's part. I couldn't help thinking it amounted to a child throwing a temper tantrum when they didn't win the game they were playing. They need to learn, if they're going to live here, he IS our president. Get over it and stand behind him.
