...Pointing Out to Sea - Beacon of Light Guiding Me

No matter how turbulent or still the sea can be, there is always something peaceful about the view of a lighthouse in the distance. A thing of beauty, a safe house from the disquietude of a vicious storm...a beacon to guide the way for the seafarer...whatever, they're a picturesque, romantic, sight and calming to the senses. Also, no matter where for me but in this photo to the right center you can spot it flying low, the sounds of seagulls lull one to think "All's well with the world". The sea...it calls to me----

All these photos are older ones from some of my folders. Some, I've posted before on my blog. This week, I've been recooping from battling what I thought was a bad cold, but my physician corrected me...it's BRONCHITIS. She put me on a high dosage of antibiotics and pain killers from my mole surgical removal. I hope to recover soon, and be able to stop by to visit with y'all....in the meantime, I appreciate you stopping by!!!

  1. The second picture!!!! Awesome! Do you know what it reminds me of? That old song,
"Red Sails In The Sunset." Have you heard it?

  2. these are beautiful, how I miss the marina down town Corpus but more watching the shrimpers coming in at port A...is the light house the one between Corpus and Port A?

  5. Being near the water is always calming. I think part of it is that it makes us realize how small we are, when compared to the vast expanse of water on this planet. Or maybe it's something primal.

  15. I know what you mean about the sea calling!! I am a native Galvestonian and although I no longer live directly on the coast, I can't get too far from it!!
I do hope you get over your bronchitis soon. I know so many people who are sick this summer and it is just no fun at all. Get well!!

    1. ...summer is the worst time for this 'cause you have the hot, very hot outdoors...sweating just stepping outside the door and the ice cap y'all have to have the interior set at to be comfortable. Not good for weak lungs.

  16. Gosh, I hope you get better quickly now, Anni. I've had bronchitis, and it's no fun, all that coughing. My mole was fine and I'm hoping for the same for you. Love that sunset picture with the seagull. :-)

  18. Anytime you want to dip into your folders, do it, because these are awesome pictures and you certainly deserve a break whenever you need it. Sorry you are sick ... why is it that getting sick in the summer always seems to be worse ... maybe because we feel like we are missing more by not being able to be out. Hope the mole removal was benign and yes, I know, for such a little surgical procedure, they are very painful ... not sure why, but I can attest to it. Be well, Hootin' Annie.
