"But she is NOT a redhead".

A comment was left in my blog last Wednesday by Dawn regarding redheads. Of course, if you follow my blog and perhaps are a fan of the television crime drama, NCIS, you'll know just what the comment meant. If not, let me explain a bit with my edition of "Monday Morsels"...

MONDAY MORSELS

Other than baseball and football and movies, I watch little other programing on TV. But I do watch TV on Monday night 830PM [The Big Bang Theory] !AND! Tuesday evening 7PM. Last Tuesday evening the finale of this season's NCIS hour long program, the last of a three parter, was aired. Of course it ended as a cliffhanger!! I expected that. But, unlike the season finale of the year before, this one was a doozie; left me more confused than ever. It left more unanswered questions that are difficult to decipher. A flashing of a thought for a fleeting moment, when Gibbs was looking through photos...I was worried he'd try and commit suicide; temporary insanity can come to anyone with just one thought. Several times throughout the program's history he has been known to break down. [His character's history is that of a USMC sniper, deployed, while back at home in America, his wife and daughter were killed...he took the law into his own hands and did away with the one who killed his loved ones]....hence this last season's finale---a Mexican Cold Case re-opened by Abby, the Forensic's expert and co-worker of Gibbs. She knows Leroy Gibbs killed in cold blood. And the mystery of it all was not fully revealed. Dawn also mentioned the 'redhead'. Again, if you've even a remote inkling of the series you'll know that Gibbs is fond of redheads. Married several times...all redheads; divorced 'em all. For a few years, Special Agent Gibbs [part played by Mark Harmon] had an unknown female friend...who drove a silver Mercedes, surprise!!!---a red headed woman...and perhaps a lover of his. But her identity was never revealed. EXCEPT if you ever read the ending credits. She was "The mysterious redhead"...her stage name is Vivienne Bellisario!! Ummmm, people? The Bellisario brothers are producers of the show.

So, delving into the gossip columns [actually Google for me] I researched more. I too wanted to know, just like the program's cast guessed who she was in the written plots and summaries for a couple of shows....Who WAS this mysterious lady?

One of the Bellisario brothers, Donald, was her husband. She was written into the script with a promise that one day her identity would be revealed which would be to the delight of Dinozo and other agents. But it ended up being a 'no-go'. She has since been written out. Still, doing more research on my own, I found that there was an interview with the brother, and he stated it was his brother's wife...but then, with more conversation we also find out that Sean Murrary [Special Agent McGee] is actually a Stepson!!! The plot thickens! There is another episode where special agent McGee's sister is accused of murdering a military personnel of which she can't remember doing it...she seeks help with McGee....McGee, sister, mystery woman, producer....in real life, they are ALL related. Wife, Husband, exes, stepson, son, sister and stepdaughter. Yes indeedy. Hollywood can't get much richer in gossip.

Timothy McGee's sister, Sarah
In real life step-siblings

[Agent McGee's real mother is the redhead pictured above, Vivienne...while McGee's sister, Sarah --Troian's father is Donald Bellisario [see sidebar for list of his spouses]...Vivienne's husband. Phew!! Like a soap opera, isn't it?]

The mysterious redhead driving the silver Mercedes will always remain a mystery to DiNozo and NCIS staff for now. But the mysteries of life have been revealed. And it's all relative!!!

Some added notes:

Palmer...played by Dietzen, was born in Colorado and went to school in Niwot, Colorado
Ziva David [dah VEED] is not really Israeli! She was born in Chile and raised Catholic!
Abby in real life graduated in criminology with honors!
Mark Harmon was NEVER in the military
DiNozo actually recorded a song...Bitter and Blue...for the NCIS soundtrack.]
Listen to it here by clicking on the arrow to the left
Ducky [Dr. Mallard] really IS from Scotland!
Leon [Rocky Carroll] and Gibbs [Mark Harmon] both co-starred in Chicago Hope.

So Saturday afternoon was blistering hot outdoors. A Whopping 97 degrees by mid afternoon. Too hot to be in that inferno, too crowded downtown and on the beach because of the holiday weekend...so we stayed home and quickly became bored. Bud read most of the morning while I worked on my blog and chatted online with Erik, our son. He's trying to figure out a vacation package overseas for himself...and sending me links of some of his choices. I, being a mom thinking of only herself, kept trying to get him interested in an African Safari. Didn't work. I think he knew I'd suggest that I go with him if he decided on that. roflmao

Well, being utterly disinterested in reading my book, I convinced Bud to play the best two out of three Trivial Pursuit games. It was neck and neck by the end of the 2nd game, and much later, I won the 3rd game. Ticked Bud off; he prides himself in the generalization of trivia.

But since then, I read that the actors, Dennis Hopper had died from a long battle of prostate cancer, and Gary Coleman died shortly after being admitted to the hospital suffering from a brain hemorrhage . Which got us talking. It turned to Oscars. From there it boiled down to who won the most Oscars. I said Edith Head. My goodness...I've watched all the televised Academy Award shows...and it seems that my memory came up with Edith Head and her Costume Design. She was bound to be the one. Right? I convinced Bud I was right!!! Wrong. It was none other than Walt Disney! Out of 59 nominations, the man won twenty-six; while Edith Head was nominated 34 times and only won eight. And, I was so sure of myself. Well...that redeemed my ranking with Bud tho. He now realizes that he perhaps can still regain his Trivia Crown again someday soon.

Do any of you, dear followers, get into these little ditties with your spouse, friends, children, co-workers? Then, have to do some Googling?

Here is the History Question of which I won the final match: What television network did the U S Troops, during the Gulf War, dub "Scud-a-vision"?

It was simple...CNN

...If I could talk to the animals

PART VI OF Corpus Christi Museum of Science and History

[the conclusion of a week-long tour]

Y'just can't have a trip to a Science museum without exhibits of animals. Stuffed, dioramas, skeletal remains, fossils and what have you. So for Camera Critters it's all about the animals....

The first photo is of the 'world's largest crustacean'. A Japanese Spider Crab. The female is the smaller of the two. The info card by the display said the arm-spand length on the male can be as long as some 3.7 meters [12 feet]

Around Texas, even in neighborhood back yards within the city limits you could possibly have this for a visitor! And they ARE cute...I even read they eat unwanted guests like ants and termites and cockroaches. So...the eco-system works for me. An opossum.

- - -

The Whooping Crane. There is a special reserve in Texas between here and Galveston Texas that the cranes migrate to in the winter from our neighbors to the North; Canada. The state of Texas keeps tabs on the new births each year and saves the statistics in order to maybe help keep them from extinction.

- - -

The infamous Armadillo.
They always remind me of
the 'roly-poly' insects found
under rocks in the yard...

- - -

Not to mention the science of paleontology...
fossils and skeletons

Fossilized dinosaur bones!

Snake and Spider Monkey Skeletal displays

Lastly, to conclude the museum tour for the week, the buffalo still ROAM...

I DO HOPE AND SEND WISHES TO ALL THOSE WHO ARE OBSERVING THE LONG HOLIDAY WEEKEND HERE IN AMERICA....be safe, enjoy and have a hot dog for me!!! Happy Memorial Day!!!

PART V OF Corpus Christi Museum of Science and History

[my tie-in Antique just below this marquee]

Meat Grinder

Sewing Machine

Waffle Iron

RCA - Victrola

Box Cameras

Typewriter

Iron Collection

Lady's Shoes

...and then, antiques! I get a kick out of walking through antique sections in museums. Just to see exactly how 'antique' I am!! I remember these from my childhood!! I have my mother's meat grinder. A Brownie Box Camera! Yes indeedy, it's still in my possession...I think of all the cameras I've left behind on vacations, at rest stops, on top of cars, in motel rooms, on park benches, etc...I think it's darn good of me to hang onto the antique camera from my youth!!! I still have the old typewriter I learned to type on. I remember shoes like this, that my mother used to wear!! The Victrola? Yep, I remember these too....my grandmother had one in her parlor. A parlor!! Whoa. She had one of those too!! The old Singer Treadle Sewing Machine?----yep, you guessed it, I learned to sew on one. Of course, with me, IRON is still a four letter word....don't like 'em still today---I felt sorry for that lady in the window display...even if she IS a mannequin!! And, I remember mom making hot fresh waffles on a waffle iron just like this one at the museum. Nothing'll beat homemade waffles, crisp and lightly browned on the outside, steamy inside, with tons of real maple syrup and butter. Wow, seems the more I think and remember days of yore, the more I realize I AM ancient. I bet if I sit here long enough I could probably remember trade beads with the Souix Nation too. Wouldn't surprise me.

Anyway, since the rules of the Show n Tell meme state that we're not supposed to show 'trips/tours/vacations' I'm complying to the rudiments and I'll show you the antiques around here that I have [some mentioned above]...

Antique Ironing Board

A functional replica of
the old Victrola megaphones.
Metal: Brass Speaker

My mom's stuff from her kitchen...
including a meat grinder!

My typewriter that I learned to type...I probably could NOT push the keys down these days. Even back then it took effort.

...and LAST:
The Brownie Camera from centuries long ago!

PART IV OF Corpus Christi Museum of Science and History

With my week's theme, dealing with a museum tour of the local Science and History Museum...today, for Thursday 13 I give you GEMS!! I've been fascinated a long time that the state of Texas actually has a state gem cut...which I viewed a couple of times perusing the mineral section of the science part of the museum. Googling, I even found a site that tells of its history and how the cut was successfully accomplished for the very first time. All photos have mouseover captions. Just float your mouse over the photo...you'll then know just what you see...
