Got a good reason For taking the easy way out

Karisma is hosting this week. She asks us to either tell a story of something that made you laugh or embarrassed you, that pertains to pets or kids. I'm kinda bending the rules a little bit here. It was a special day at work. A Friday. Normally we always had 'casual day' for Friday. And we always [usually] closed the clinic at NOON on Friday...no appointments with patients were scheduled beyond 11 a.m. for the doctors ---but, sometimes it was different if we had emergencies that the 'on call' doctor couldn't handle, and the specialist that was dealing with the certain case was called in to stay longer.

Okay, well, back to the category for the Fun Monday this week. One of the staff would pick a 'kind of day' for us to dress. But, only once in a while, just to have fun. One particular summer Friday, we were to go to work dressed as someone in another occupation. And, thinking of this prompt this week, AND the fact we're busy painting our home's exterior, [here's the different twist on Karisma's challenge] I remembered how embarrassed both my kids were not to mention Bud's reaction that I would actually go to an office in that garb...well, you decide:

I dressed as the most outrageous house painter this side of the Rocky Mountains. Eat your heart out, Eldin [Murphy Brown's house painter that never stopped painting!!!] I had fun. And the psychiatrists that I worked for? Well, let's just say I was told I needed some pyschiatric care that day. rofl

  12. I know why they thought you needed medical help...you had "Hootin' Annie" printed all over your outfit...and it showed up in the photo also, and it rubbed off on the rest of the idyllic scene...-grin!

We (YOU!) are not a glum lot.

  14. Anni, I'm amazed and impressed. First, this post was a hoot. What amazes me is the photographic diary you have kept of your life.

That is so how I would have dressed!
I dress so tacky every day. I'm talking plaid with tie dye!
I just don't leave my house when I dress like that!

  19. I just love the picture of you in the painter's outfit! I have to say its COOL! You are so lovely as a younger woman just as you are today.
Yes, I snipped off the stem, from the parent plant, just below the fifth leaves. I use a rooting chemical you mix with water from Walmart, a little goes a long way! hold ends in it for about a minute. I try to have a 8 inch to 6 inch stem, and take off most of the leaves, I leave a couple at the top. I make sure the fifth leaves node is going into a soil mixed with sand, so roots will start from there.Keep the soil moist but not soggy takes about six week to root. I do a whole bunch at a time just in case they do not all root. I have some rooting in a pot now, about 8 in a small clay pot, at night I cover it with a cut off 2 liter soda bottle. It makes it like a green house. I do root them in my flower beds too, but its harder to keep it moist at all the time, with other plants in the bed. The one I that is a growing wreath was rooted just where it is growing. But I had about 20 there and only two rooted. It a been fun trying to root them, for these are the old time roses, that came from old home place. Hope this helps. I go to Doc in morning to see when we are setting up my surgery for this year. After I got hurt I gone backwards trying hard to get back where I was. Hoping he gives me a little more time. I bought sheep today and so excited, I may add them to the rose wreath post tonight. Love you in the painters outfit.

  21. Oh, thanks for the reminder about Murphy Brown's painter, Anni. Thought the two of them had a great relationship. And how handy for you to work for a psychiatrist. I've often needed that perk!

  25. Too too funny! That must have been a funn day. I would have had to break the rules, too, and tell of the day I walked out of my shoes on the way down from the organ on Sunday morning and landed on my face in front of the whole congregation!
