Got a good reason For taking the easy way out

Mariposa is hosting this week. Her challenge for us is:
...let us share each other's self pampering stories...may they be from little pleasures to guilty pleasures

"Guilty Pleasure" Let me 'fess up. When these are placed in front of me, either at the store when I happen to see them as I check out, or on a serving plate at home....I can't pass 'em up. And I can't just eat one!!!

I guess my self pampering would be a bubble bath and soft music in the room. Along with reading. I haven't done it in a long time tho. When I do read now, it's either outside on my chaise lounge or packing up the lounge chair and heading for the beach for the day. Pampering is what you make of it. It could be just about anything from going to pick up 'take out' food when I don't want to cook, or walking on the beach, or even listening to music where the speakers are up so loud the walls vibrate. [yes, I do do that too!] So many things. All individualistic.

  3. hey, you're right. pampering is about more than a haircut, shopping or going for a facial. it's about treating yourself. even if it is take-aways... you're quite brilliant you know that?!?!?!

  6. Those turtles are positively sinfully delicious looking!

Bubble baths and I don't get alone - the water doesn't stay hot enough long enough, my tub isn't conducive to lying back and relaxing. AND, to top it off, I've gotten to the point where I can't get out gracefully. UGH!! What a pathetic situation.

Have a great week - it's sunny and gorgeous in Colorado this morning.

  7. Love to be pampered -- just a simple something to lift the spirits.

Thanks for you offer of peanutbutter and mayonnaise --- hopefully it won't come to that, but I do like that combination especially if you slice a banana on it too.

  9. You are right: pampering is what you make of it.
Which reminds me: I haven't had a bubble bath in years!!

  10. Anni,

Like you, I think pampering is an individual thing. I enjoy quiet time with no phones ringing or anything having to be done that instant. I also enjoy lying in bed at night listening to rain on the roof or in the morning listening to bird song. Reading is also a time to get away from the world's hustle and bustle.

Have a great day, my friend.
    Blessings,
    Mary

  14. I didn't get a post up (I've been on the road for important stuff - like grandchildren)

Maybe grandchildren are a way I pamper myself. Love rocking babies and smelling their sweet little cheeks.

I have a new picture of you in my mind, loud music and you and the walls shimmying.

  17. My grandmother used to love those. She called them turtles and she always had a box of them hidden away in her night stand.
I love listening to the music loud, too. But, I'm never alone now, so I can't do it any more.

  20. You are so right. I believe that we all pamper ourselves somewhat everyday. We tend to forget about life's little pleasures that get us through the day.

  21. Amen Sista !!!!!
Love to be pampered but darn if it is always after I have taken care of all the rest of the family.
At least I don't have to share the bath water like my granny did ,or wait till Saturday for a bath :)
We often forget all our many blessings .They are all around us everyday.
If I had to choose just one thing it would be to walk on the beach with the waves coming in and the glorious setting of the sun or the sunrise while walking on the beach.
If you can't tell I am land locked !
Had a great time visiting your blog .
Thank you for sharing so many awesome thoughts .
    Have a great week.

  22. "'take out' food when I don't want to cook" - then I must have been pampering myself too many times this week. I've done more take-outs than cook this week. I like what you say - "Pampering is what you make of it."
