Got a good reason For taking the easy way out

~...end Wordless Wednesday

<><><>

Well, Tuesday being 'trickster's day' for all you April Fools out there, I just wanted you to know, I got 'had' twice. Dear Man o' Mine got me pretty good. I showed him the photo of our daughter's baptism from my blog yesterday morning and asked:
"Do you know who this is?"

He looked sincerely puzzled, blinking his eyes and leaning over the back of my chair, and said:
"No!" "One of your blogging buddies' baby?"

I took him seriously and was completely flabbergasted. Then, I turned from the monitor and looked at him in a very strained way, thinking to myself, 'you've GOT to be kidding' ---by the time my eyes made contact with his eyes, his dimples became quite visible with his grin. The turd!!!! Of COURSE he knew who it was!!!

Then, Sharon, she comes to my blog and leaves a comment for me in the morning. Telling me I had just missed her day's blog entry. I, in turn, clicked on her link and lo and behold she decided to quit blogging. Much to my dismay!!! I read her explanations of her decisions and was just about ready to tell her in no uncertain terms that she will truly be missed and I was devastated that she would no longer blog.........

She then added a line after scrolling down to the comment link ---"April Fool's!!!"

:::sigh::: Yep, I'd been had. She got me good. How many others fell for her joke I wonder?

Okay, so I could not NOT end the day without doing a trick. And I waited 'til the right moment. I was in the kitchen, by the sink, and hubby was at the table, reading the newspaper for the day---I inhaled deeply hoping he would have heard me, tore off a paper towel, came around the room divider and said as I was looking down near the corner of the room [where it's quite dark] and said:

"Oh my!"

He moved the paper, looking down on the carpet where I was looking following my vision movements and me chasing towards him with my paper towel saying:

"Look at the size of THAT cockroach would you."

He immediately lifted his bare feet up on the table's leg support and said as he was looking in all directions ---

"Where?" "Where is it?" He was primed and ready to move out of 'harm's way' at any moment.

I quickly walked toward him as if to pounce on the roach any time now!..........

And tweaked his nose with the paper towel..."April Fool's"

He said ---"Funny, real funny!"

[he hates.....#$@!$!!roaches, not to mention rats, but that's a whole other story to tell someday]

  11. Good Evening/Morning Anni,
The roses and Pelican Statue in your backyard are just beautiful. I must say you do have a beautiful looking backyard and I know you and your hubby put alot of work into keeping it that way. The grass is so green. Okay, I must say you did get had on April Fools. LOL. I like how you got your hubby back tho. LOL. That was just too funny there. I stayed home and didn't go anywhere today, so no one got me. Nope, not anyone. The girls did play some jokes on each other a bit ago, but that's about it. My DH and his Uncle finally was able to start driving again around 10:15a.m. this morning. He called me and told me there would be some Icy Spots ahead of them. They didn't make it to North Las Vegas in time this afternoon to get unloaded there, so it will be in the morning before they get unloaded there. It will probably be Thursday morning sometime before they get back to Memphis. I don't know if they will be able to make their Minnesota and Wisconsin run or not since it picks up tomorrow. I'm hoping he will get to come home this weekend since we have more softball games on Friday night and Saturday morning. I do appreciate the prayers you prayed for them. I have heard my DH talk about the Sherman Mountain there in Wyoming. He has also talked about the 3 Sisters mountains which I have forgotten what mountains those are. Take care my friend and have a great evening/day. May God Bless You and Yours.

    Love & Hugs,
    Karen H.

  17. Anni,

I just LOVE the photo. Your yard is very beautiful and I know how hard you work on it. It's a never ending battle to keep it looking like that. Wish mine looked half as good.

Loved the April Fool's jokes. I didn't get "had" this year, but am hoping some April Fool's Day fun went on at the boys' house.

Take care, Anni. I've posted more about Brandon's Asperger's today and some of the things he's struggled with.

    Have a great Wednesday.

    Blessings,
    Mary

  20. Lol ! you both fell in the trap !
Here in the Belgian news they said that it is not allowed to speak french anymore in the street on your mobile when you are in a flemish area. Mr. Gattino just wanted to get furious when I reminded him that today it's April 1 !

  23. WOW -- green earth. We still have snow and that is no April Fool's joke.

Anything with a bug is creepy. LOL
My grandmother use to have a fake ice cube with a fly in in it that she would put in our lemonade.

Thanks for stopping by and meeting the "incognito jokers" on my WW.

  26. Thanks for coming over for WW! Your yard looks lovely - ours should be "greening up" pretty soon with all the moisture we've had! Today is supposed to be warm, with yuck to return tomorrow. We'll see.

I love the April Fool's stories - and especially the picture of your firstborn. I think alot about those board we used to carry then in - putting them on the car seat and reaching out our arms to save them from disaster when we put on the brakes! Fat chance of that, eh? I think about it every day when I put kids on four different car seats several times a day - 8 times last Friday!

Quitting blogging was a great theme for yesterday - one of my blogging friends did the same, but I figured it out. Great idea.

The blue flowers are windflowers, according to my hubby, the horticulturalist and landscape artist of the family.

I'm glad you got your hubby too after he got you in the morning!

    Pretty back yard photo too!

    Have a super duper day!

  40. Pretty funny ... I'm glad you had a chance to 'even' the score (so to speak). I managed to make it through the day without being 'had' ... but played no jokes on anyone else either. I did find lots of things to laugh about ... and did my One Single Impression post on LAUGHTER at Sacred Ruminations since it seemed perfect for April Fools Day ;--)

I'm happy to be getting you jazzed about tennis ... added a bit more today ... though not a whole lot because I'm too busy WATCHING matches today!

  42. Anni,
I so much loved your April Fool's post! I'm still smiling! My eldest daughter tricked me into believing I had a pimple on my nose, and I tricked DH with the same trick. Plus at a meme a lady had me believe they were eating as children from disposable paper plates. (Yes, I believed her. My mum loved Tupperware).
    Happy April!
