This week's theme - TECHNOLOGY
I kinda figured that I'm gonna see a lot of Tivo, Playstations, remotes, video games, computer technology this weekend for the hunt, so I wracked my brain to find something out of the 'ordinary' in technology.....
[Laser Level]
The Laser Level Instrument generates an optical pulse. This pulse is reflected off an object or liquid and returns to the system receiver. A high-speed counter measures the time of flight from the start pulse to the return pulse. This time is used to determine the distance from the sensor to the material.
Laser Level Sensors are mostly used for measuring levels of bulk solids and opaque liquids. 80% of these units are used for dry solids. They employ Class I lasers, which are safe for the human eye(but I still wouldn't eyeball the laser beam myself). As most devices use laser of wavelength 1 micron, as opposed to radar's wavelength of 10,000+ microns, it reportedly has virtually no beam divergence, which means no false echoes, and easily measures surfaces at an angle. The narrow laser beam can pass through screens. It can traverse distances of up to 120 meters (for us Americans that's over 300 feet).
And hubby has an electronic stud finder also---but he won't allow me to go searching for the studs I have in mind!!!! And since this is a PG rated blog....I best leave the photo off here. *wink*
Technology at it's finest for us 'do it your-selfers'!!!

We have a laser level and I thought we'd use it a lot but we don't... I made you site of day for tomorrow.
You know, I have no use for that product. But I want one....
:-)
That looks so cool!! Have a great weekend.
what a nifty little tool!
I also posted a technological device that is out of the ordinary--in fact, it wasn't even invented this century (or the last for that matter.)
I don't have a laser level, but I do have one of those stud finders you are talking about. :-) They are very useful.
Have a great weekend!
Hey, you know this was a great idea for today's theme! We have one of these, but I've never used it. I leave building stuff to the MAN of the house...haha....

I love the joke at the end.....never opened.....Chuckle.
And the lasar level.... great cat toy!

Congrats on being the Site of the Week!
Fantastic gadget!
Have a great Saturday.
Very cool! I would love to play with that red light. :)
A very handy piece of technology! Great choice. :)
Thanks for stopping by and have a good day. :)
I am laughing at the stud finder! I borrow hubbys when he is not home but all I seem to find is wood in the walls! LOL
Great take on the theme! Out side the box is good!
Thanks for visiting my tangled technology. Happy Saturday!
Oh, yes, that's one tech thing that's very useful!
Not the stud one for me.... *lol*
Reminds me of that I had another laser light once, which I used to scare away some birds, mostly Magpies from my birdfeeder since they ate it all in seconds otherwise.
They reacted very fast at the light and even in large distance, probably because they thought it was the hunter with a laser sight in his rifle!
Congrats on being Site of the Day.
These laser things are really cool. Have one for our cats...they love chasing the light.
Mine's up.
Site of the day!! WOW How does that happen? But congrats...Mine is up now too...Have a great weekend...Sandy
I really have got to get me one of those!
Nice. Gotta get me one.
SITE OF THE DAY???? Let's hear it now - HIP HIP HOORAY - (***Doing a couple of backflips here for ya***)
Well-deserved, Anni!
You go girl!
Hugz and stuff....
That is so cool!
Just think of all those pencil marks we used to use to drill and hang shelves on the wall! Mine were always crooked!
Happy Weekend

Nice Photo Hunt!
Thanks for stopping by!
Now how cool is your post? Very cool.
Love that final about the stud finder.
Take care,
Frances
It's funny but I've always wanted one of these things, too. I wanted it so that I could do my stuff around the house. The thing is I don't do stuff around the house (except cleaning!) But I still want one!!
Nicely done. Way to think outside the box.
Congrats on being site of the day. Nice post!
One of those never knew you needed it but can't live without it now kind of tools. :) Good post.
Your site is a 'hoot', BTW. Out of pure coincidence DH and DD were playing ride 'em cowgirl when your music started playing. They thought I found it just for them!
Too cool! I want one, but probably wouldn't use it!
Good idea! And it surely replaced the pencil and ruler didnt' it! ; )Thanks for visiting my site.
Aren't those wonderful?! Thanks for stopping by.
Hello site of the day!! We have a laser that we tease the kitties with. No, we don't shine it in their eyes! They'll chase the light on the floor for hours!
Thanks for stopping by mine :)
Cool choice for this week! Things have never been more level on my walls since I got one :) Happy Hunting!
thanks for stopping by today. Those laser lights are really cool. I'm thinking of getting my boyfriend one.
I love your idea for technology. I also love to tease my husband about his "stud" finder, lol. Thanks for sharing and have a great weekend.
Well, this is weird. I left a comment earlier today and it seems to have disappeared.
I love your take on technology. We have one of those and it is SO handy.
I want one! It's so cool!
A good post for the hunt. I have a laser level from Sears that I use to hang pictures with and other stuff. Very cool.
I want one of those too. I don't know when/if I'd ever use it but I think they're great...Thanks for stopping by and have a great weekend.
That picture on my site is my daughter and her daugher
Hi Hoot!
Thanks for stopping by my blog to check out my "technology" post. I learned LOTS about laser levels from your description. Mom got one of these for Christmas, but she's just been using it as a laserbeam toy for us since the batteries wore out in our laser pointer.
DMM
So you've really done your homework on that thingie :D
My Mr Right is obsessed with all kinds of tools and stuff... And we have few tons of them! (Yeah, he's trying to make a living out of them, by renovating people's houses) But I don't think he has the laser thing yet? Hmm... He's birthday is coming soon...
Thanks for stopping by!
Great idea for the theme and great shot
Those things are great! So are stud finders.
My mom moved into a new home recently and needed a stud finder so she could hang her pictures. Well.. we got to laughing about what *other* things a stud finder could be used for. She's a funny lady at the age of 72 and still a bit feisty :)
Thanks for dropping by!
My aunt certainly could have used that! Now she has a stained carpet. Thanks for the wishes and stopping by..
I'm amazed at your numbers! ;-)
Great photo, and I learned a lot! Thanks for stoppin' by.
That's all new to me; I learned a lot! Thanks for visiting my photo hunt!
Very interesting and informative. Thanks for stopping by mine.
Great technology photo with a lot of information, too! I'd love to have a laser level. Don't need a stud finder - I've already found mine!
Aren't you the clever one!!!
Now as far as the stud finder goes, it makes me think, I haven't seen any vibrators yet! LMAO
I have more to say on that subject but if it really is a kid tested blog I'd better refrain!!
Congrats on being featured.
Sláinte ;)
ICL
Laser is doing lots of things now.
Thanks for visiting.
That's a good one! My husband would have loved one of those when he was working as a carpenter. Great stuff isn't it?
Thanks for stopping by.
I so want one of them. Hubby a nut about thing being level.
That's way cool technology!
Thanks for stopping by!
I've always wanted one of those!

Happy Sunday, Anni, and thanks for visiting my PH this weekend!
Great take on this week's photo hunt theme. I wish I had a laser level to hang our pictures straight.
Thank you for stopping by yesterday - much appreciated.
I have three or four different laser levels and still can't hang a picture straight!
